The changes of JERS1 backscatter and ERS1/2 tandem coherence between images are consistent over the area studied, in contrast to ERS1/2 backscatter. A modelbased regression analysis has been performed, and the use of the model for inversion is discussed and compared with other approaches found in the literature. The model parameters are discussed in terms of their relation to wind speed and temperature. Results from the different acquisitions are combined to improve the stem volume estimation. The accuracy in terms of rms error (RMSE) for standwise estimated stem volume is 310 m/ha using ERS1/2 coherence. Using backscatter and coherence from JERS1 we obtain an RMSE of 33035 m/ha. Finally, conditions for accurate retrieval of stem volume using multitemporal InSAR observations are discussed. We conclude that G and Lband repeatpass InSAR can provide stem volume estimates in boreal forests with accuracies similar to those of standard in situ measurements. [Termes IGN] NépalRésumé : (Auteur) The potential of multi-temporal Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) data was examined for its use in detecting areas affected by flood and erosion from a heavy rainfall. The study area is the Kulekhani watershed (124 km') located in the central region of Nepal. Four change-detection techniques were compared for their effectiveness including (1) Spectral Image Differencing (SID), (2) Tasseled Cap Brightness Image Differencing (TCBID), (3) Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and (4) Spectral Change Vector Analysis (SCVA). SID was performed on four raw bands (bands 1, 2, 3, and 7), and altogether seven new images (change images) were produced.
Visible bands were effective in detecting affected areas. SCVA (using bands 1, 2, and 3) was found to be most accurate for detecting areas affected by flood and erosion followed by SID (band 2), PCA (using bands 1, 2, and 3), SID (band 1), and SID (band 3). The change image produced from SCVA showed overall and Khat accuracies of 88.3 percent and 75.4 percent, respectively. The analysis of spatial agreement conducted among the seven change images, produced from different techniques, varied from 89 percent to 98 percent. The change image produced from SCVA showed high spatial agreements with change images produced from PCA, SID (band 3), and SID (band 2). SGVA and SID (band 3) showed the spatial agreement of 88.1 percent and 98.7 percent in the change and no-change categories, respectively.Numéro de notice : A2002-028 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : sans En ligne : https://www.asprs.org/wp-content/uploads/pers/2002journal/march/2002_mar_233-239 [...] Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=21945

[Termes IGN] télédétection spatialeRésumé : (Auteur) The Central Pilbara Railway (CPR) was constructed in 1992 by Hamersley Iron Pty Ltd to provide a transport link between Marandoo and the proposed Yandicoogina Mine in the Central Pilbara, Western Australia. The 400 km line connects to the port of Dampier to the huge iron ore resources in the central Pilbara and a section of nearly 100 km of the railway passes through the Karijini National Park. The main area of interest in this study is within this strip and in particular the section 500 metres either side of the railway centreline between Marandoo and the eastern boundary of the park near Juna Downs.
This study uses multi-temporal satellite data to determine the prior status and the impact on vegetation condition from the construction and operation of the CPR. This method was tested using one kilometre sub-divisions along and 100 metre segments away from the line within a 500 metre zone around the CPR.
It was found that change in vegetation condition is significantly greater closer to the railway centreline than farther away. The significant decrease in vegetation condition occurs only in the 0 to 100m segment, but not beyond and the vegetation decrease may be considered an inevitable result of the CPR. It appears that wild-fires have the greatest impact on vegetation condition in this region and the impact of the CPR is minimal by comparison.Numéro de notice : A2002-120 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1080/10106040208542221 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1080/10106040208542221 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=22035

[Termes IGN] tempsRésumé : (Auteur) This paper describes an application of fuzzy set theory to perform temporal interpolation in a raster GIS database. Specific fuzzy membership functions have been derived to simulate spatial changes between consecutive snapshots registered in the database. The proposed approach is tested on a very dynamic rural-urban environment of Montreal Metropolitan area in Quebec, Canada, covering the period from 1956 to 1986 with a temporal resolution of ten years. A user friendly software package named FUZZY TEMP was developed and integrated in the GRASS 4.1 environment in order to perform the implementation of the developed concepts.
