[Termes IGN] trace numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) The popularity of smart mobile devices generated data, e.g., check-ins and geo-tagged status, offers new opportunity for better understanding human mobility regularity. Existing works on this problem usually resort to explicit frequency statistics models, such as association rules and sequential patterns, and rely on Euclidean distance to measure the spatial dependence. However, the noisiness and uncertainty natures of geospatial data hinder these methods’ application on human mobility in robust and intuitive way. Moreover, the mobility spatial data volume and accumulation speed challenge the traditional methods in efficiency, scalability, and time-space complexity aspects. In this context, we leverage full Bayesian sequential modeling, to revisit mobility regularity discovery from high level probabilistic semantic knowledge perspective, and to alleviate the inherent in mobility modeling and geo-data noisiness induced uncertainty. Specifically, the mobility semantics is embodied by virtue of underlying geospatial topics and topical transitions of mobility trajectories. A classic variational inference is derived to estimate posterior and predictive probabilities, and furthermore, the stochastic optimization is utilized to mitigate the costly computational overhead in message passing subroutine. The experimental results confirm that our approach not only reasonably recognizes the geospatial mobility semantic patterns, but also scales up well to embrace the massive spatial-temporal human mobility activity data. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (auteur) Advances in tracking technology enable the gathering of spatio-temporal data in the form of trajectories, which when analysed can convey useful knowledge. In particular, discovering groups of moving objects is a valuable means for a wide class of problems related to mobility. The task of group mining has been investigated by considering mostly the spatial closeness and similarity of the trajectories, while little attention has been paid to the relationships between the trajectories and time-changing nature of the trajectories. The relationships may provide evidence of interactions between the moving objects. The time-changing nature may provide evidence of dynamics of the movements. Therefore, interactions and dynamics can be sources of information to be considered in order to discover new forms of groups. Motivated by this, we introduce the concept of crews and propose a method to discover crews. A crew gathers moving objects with similar interactions and similar dynamics. The proposed method relies on i) new movement parameters, which explicitly consider interactions and dynamics, and ii) a distance-free clustering algorithm, which groups objects based on the similarity of the movement parameters. We conduct extensive experiments, which include a quantitative evaluation of the quality of the crews and comparison with alternative solutions. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationRésumé : (Auteur) Change acts as an inherent characteristic of the landscape, and expresses dynamic interactions between its tangible and intangible elements. While the documentation and analysis of spatiotemporal patterns have been broadly discussed, major challenges concern the design of task-oriented, user-friendly landscape visualizations. Geographic information system (GIS) techniques and approaches from visual analytics may bring solutions to those questions. This paper considers the milestone documents for the representation of cultural heritage, and proposes a workflow for assessing the feasibility of the space–time cube concept in landscape representation. The usability of the visualization was examined during the interview with domain experts and potential interdisciplinary users. The evaluation session covered benchmark tasks, feedback, and eye-tracking. The performance of the space–time cube was compared with another spatiotemporal visualization technique and measured in terms of correctness, response time, and satisfaction. The Royal Castle in Warsaw, which was registered in 1980 as a part of Warsaw’s World Heritage Site of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), served as the case study. The user tests show that the designed space–time cube excels for the completion rate; however, more time is required to provide answers to question tasks focusing on comparisons. Together, the case study and feedback from domain experts and participants demonstrate the benefit of the space–time cube concept in designing landscape visualizations. [Termes IGN] secours d'urgenceRésumé : (Auteur) A structural and quantitative representation of disaster status contributes to efficient emergency decision-making, for this purpose, a representation model for disaster status is developed in this paper, called spatio-temporal scenario model (short for STSM model). Concept of the term `scenario' is discussed at first. Then, based on the concept, STSM model is proposed and introduced in detail. It contains two components: developing scenario connotation and developing spatio-temporal framework. Scenario connotation is to develop representation of disaster status of each object, consisting of object representation and damage representation. Spatio-temporal framework is to develop representation of evolution of disaster status, consisting of representation of spatial relation, temporal relation, natural environment and emergency response. Finally, an example is provided to show the effectiveness of STSM model. Advantages of the developed model lie in four aspects: flexibility in describing dynamic disaster status; universal representation of disaster status contributing to similarity assessment; helping in evaluating emergency severity with the quantitative representation of disaster status. Moreover, it helps decision-makers obtain a more comprehensive representation for disaster evolution in a certain time space.
