[Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (Auteur) Multitemporal synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image filtering is a useful pre-processing step for many applications that require speckle reduction. Several multitemporal filters are now available with very different characteristics. In this paper, the performance of three multitemporal filters is assessed with respect to statistical and operational criteria. Statistical criteria include measures of bias, noise reduction, and preservation of both spatial and temporal information. Operational criteria evaluate the accuracy of manual detection of geographical features such as points, lines and surfaces. This study was carried out with the help of ten photo-interpreters. It uses a set of seven multitemporal SAR images from the European Remote Sensing 1 (ERS-1) satellite. It provide guidelines to select multitemporal filters according to the application and the subsequent processing. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GPSRésumé : (Auteur) A landslide movement was detected as geometric misregistration in image matching between two SPOT HRV panchromatic image data of different acquisition dates. The test site is an active landslide in Itaya area, Yamagata Prefecture, northern Japan. The average rate of the landslide movement is approximately 1 cm per day based upon differential GPS measurements. Pixel level and subpixel level image matching was applied to an HRV image pair obtained on I November 1987 and 29 October 1993. As a result, the landslide movement was successfully detected as misregistration vectors between the two HRV scenes. The displacement is approximately 20m to 30m over the 6-year period between 1987 and 1993 and is consistent with the landslide movement inferred from the GPS measurements. [Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we present some improvements to urban area characterization by means of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images using multitemporal and multiangle datasets. The first aim of this research is to show that a temporal sequence of satellite SAR data may improve the classification accuracy and the discriminability of land cover classes in an urban area. Similarly, a second point worth discussing is to what extent multiangle SAR data allows extracting complementary urban features, exploiting different acquisition geometries. To these aims, in this paper, we show results on the same urban test site (Pavia, northern Italy), referring to a sequence of European Remote Sensing Satellite 1/2 (ERS1/2) Cband images and to a set of simulated Xband data with a finer spatial resolution and different viewing angles. In particular, the multitemporal data is analyzed by means of a novel procedure based on a neurofuzzy classifier whose input is a subset of the ERS sequence chosen using the histogram distance index. Instead, the multiangle dataset is used to provide a better characterization of the road network in the area, overcoming effects due to the orientation of the SAR sensor. It is therefore of special importance to select such an area to carry out an intensive land use change study and establish a dynamic monitoring system thereof aiming at understanding the change mechanism, human-environmental relationships and producing useful references for the central and local governments in their sustainable land use planning.
Multitemporal Landsat images were used for change detection by adopting a synthetic method including atmospheric correction, Tasseled Cap transformation, indicator differencing, thresholding, change type identification and county-level quantification. A classification on the recent image was conducted to quantify the present land use and cover pattern. A panel analysis calibrated by multivariate regression model was applied to reveal the driving forces of land cover changes and understand the interaction between the human activities and environment modifications by incorporating the results obtained from the change detection with the county-level socio-economic data. The regression modelling results suggest that the vegetation degradation- the predominant change type in the study area, is probably related to the soil erosion (R' = 0.994) and grassland degradation; the farmland extension, occurring principally in the valleys in the Yulin County, is associated with the foodproduct increase (R' = 0.987); the urban extension, spatially related to coal mining, is linked to the urban population growth (R' = 0. 881); and the surface decrease of waterbodies, having taken place in the sandy land, is negatively correlated to the cultivated land change (R' = 0. 562). Therefore, the factors which govern these land use and cover changes are various human socio-economic activities, and the root cause of land degradation is, however, some unreasonable land use policies.Numéro de notice : A2003-392 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : sans Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26472
