[Termes IGN] transport publicRésumé : (auteur) The adoption of bus rapid transit (BRT) systems has gained worldwide popularity over the past several decades. China is no exception as it has long been aiming at promoting public transportation. Prior studies have provided extensive evidence that BRT has substantial effects on house prices with traditional econometric techniques, such as hedonic pricing models. However, few of those investigations have discussed the non-linear relationship between BRT and house prices. Using the Xiamen data, this study employs a machine learning technique, namely the gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT), to scrutinize the non-linear relationship between BRT and house prices. This study documents a positive association between accessibility to BRT stations and house prices and a negative association between proximity to the BRT corridor and house prices. Moreover, it suggests a non-linear relationship between BRT and house prices and indicates that GBDT has more substantial predictive power than hedonic pricing models. [Termes IGN] SlovénieRésumé : (auteur) Based on the laser point clouds of 240 individual trees that were also identified in the field, we developed decision trees to distinguish deciduous and coniferous trees and individual tree species: Picea abies, Larix decidua, Pinus sylvestris, Fagus sylvatica, Acer pseudoplatanus, Fraxinus excelsior. The volume of the upper part of the tree crown (height of 3 m) and the average intensity of the laser reflections were used as explanatory variables. There were four aerial laser datasets: May 2012, September 2012, March 2013 and July 2015. We found that the combination of the volume and the average intensity of the first three laser datasets was the most reliable for predicting the selected tree species (60% model performance). A slightly poorer model performance was obtained if only the average intensity of the first three datasets was used (54% model performance). The worst model performance was given by the intensities (31 % model performance) or the volumes (21 % model performance) of dataset 4, which represents the national laser scanning of Slovenia (LSS). The best performing was the deciduous and coniferous separation, which achieved 75% and 95% success based on the test data (combination of volume and average intensity of the first three laser datasets). Using only the LSS intensities, deciduous and coniferous trees could be separated with 81% success. [Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (Auteur) Rize district is an important tea production site in Turkey, which is known for high quality tea. Determining the temporal changes is very crucial from the viewpoint of agricultural management and protection of tea areas. In addition, delineation of tea gardens using photogrammetric evaluation techniques for a single orthoimage takes approximately 8 h of labour work, which is both costly and time-consuming process. To overcome these issues, a method is proposed for demarcation of tea gardens from high-resolution orthoimages. In this article, a hierarchical object-based segmentation using mean-shift (MS) and supervised machine learning (ML) methods are investigated for delineation of tea gardens. First, the MS algorithm was applied to partition the images into homogeneous segments (objects) and then from each segment, various spectral, spatial and textural features were extracted. Finally, four most widely used supervised ML classifiers, support vector machine (SVM), artificial neural network (ANN), random forest (RF), and decision trees (DTs), were selected for classification of objects into tea gardens and other types of trees. Photogrammetrically evaluated tea garden borders were taken as reference data to evaluate the performance of the proposed methods. The experiments showed that all selected supervised classifiers were effective for delineation of the tea gardens from high-resolution images. [Termes IGN] mise à jour de base de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) CORINE Land-Cover (CLC) and its by-products are considered as a reference baseline for land-cover mapping over Europe and subsequent applications. CLC is currently tediously produced each six years from both the visual interpretation and the automatic analysis of a large amount of remote sensing images. Observing that various European countries regularly produce in parallel their own land-cover country-scaled maps with their own specifications, we propose to directly infer CORINE Land-Cover from an existing map, therefore steadily decreasing the updating time-frame. No additional remote sensing image is required. In this paper, we focus more specifically on translating a country-scale remote sensed map, OSO (France), into CORINE Land Cover, in a supervised way. OSO and CLC not only differ in nomenclature but also in spatial resolution. We jointly harmonize both dimensions using a contextual and asymmetrical Convolution Neural Network with positional encoding. We show for various use cases that our method achieves a superior performance than the traditional semantic-based translation approach, achieving an 81% accuracy over all of France, close to the targeted 85% accuracy of CLC.
