[Termes IGN] visualisation de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Hyperspectral images have been proved to be effective for a wide range of applications; however, the large volume and redundant information also bring a lot of inconvenience at the same time. To cope with this problem, hyperspectral band selection is a pertinent technique, which takes advantage of removing redundant components without compromising the original contents from the raw image cubes. Because of its usefulness, hyperspectral band selection has been successfully applied to many practical applications of hyperspectral remote sensing, such as land cover map generation and color visualization. This paper focuses on groupwise band selection and proposes a new framework, including the following contributions: 1) a smart yet intrinsic descriptor for efficient band representation; 2) an evolutionary strategy to handle the high computational burden associated with groupwise-selection-based methods; and 3) a novel MTSP-based criterion to evaluate the performance of each candidate band combination. To verify the superiority of the proposed framework, experiments have been conducted on both hyperspectral classification and color visualization. Experimental results on three real-world hyperspectral images demonstrate that the proposed framework can lead to a significant advancement in these two applications compared with other competitors. [Termes IGN] segmentation binaireRésumé : (auteur) Despite of the popularity of Delauney structure for mesh generation, octree based approaches remain an interesting solution for a first step surface reconstruction. In this paper, we propose a generic framework for a octree cell based mesh generation. Its input is a set of Lidar-based 3D measurements or other inputs which are formulated as a set of mass functions that characterize the level of confidence on the occupancy of each octree’s leaf. The output is a binary segmentation of the space between occupied and empty areas by taking into account the uncertainty of data. To this end, the problem is then reduced to a global energy optimization framework efficiently optimized with a min-cut approach. We use the approach for producing a large scale surface reconstruction algorithm by merging data from ubiquitous sources like airborne, terrestrial Lidar data, occupancy map and extra cues. Once the surface is computed, a solution is proposed for texturing the mesh. [Termes IGN] programmation non linéaireRésumé : (Auteur) Spectral-spatial feature combination for hyperspectral image analysis has become an important research topic in hyperspectral remote sensing applications. A simple and straightforward way to integrate spectral-spatial features is to concatenate heterogeneous features into a long vector. Then, the dimensionality reduction techniques, i.e., feature selection, are applied before subsequent utilizations. However, such representation can introduce redundancy and noise. Moreover, traditional single-feature selection methods treat different features equally and ignore their complementary properties. As a result, the performance of subsequent tasks, i.e., classification, would drop down. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to integrate the spectral-spatial features based on the concatenating strategy, termed discriminative sparse multimodal learning for feature selection (DSML-FS). In the proposed method, joint structured sparsity regularizations are used to exploit the intrinsic data structure and relationships among different features. Discriminative least squares regression is applied to enlarge the distance between classes. Therefore, the weight matrix incorporating the information of feature wise and individual properties is automatically learned for spectral-spatial feature selection. We develop an alternative iterative algorithm to solve the nonlinear optimization problem in DSML-FS with global convergence. We systematically evaluate the proposed algorithm on three available hyperspectral data sets, and the encouraging experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of DSML-FS. First of all, street environment change detection using RIEGL data is studied for the purpose of database updating and temporary object identification. An occupancy-based method is presented to overcome the challenges encountered by the conventional distance-based method, such as occlusion, anisotropic sampling. Occluded areas are identified by modelling the occupancy states within the laser scanning range. The gaps between points and scan lines are interpolated under the sensor reference framework, where the sampling density is isotropic. Even there are some conflicts on penetrable objects, e.g. trees, fences, the occupancy-based method is able to enhance the point-to-triangle distance-based method. The change detection method is also applied to data acquired by different laser scanners at different temporal-scales with the intention to have wider range of applications. The local sensor reference framework is adapted to Velodyne laser scanning geometry. The occupancy-based method is implemented to detection moving objects. Since the method detects the change of each point, moving objects are detect at point level. As the Velodyne scanner constantly scans the surroundings, the trajectories of moving objects can be detected. A simultaneous detection and tracking algorithm is proposed to recover the pedestrian trajectories in order to accurately estimate the traffic flow of pedestrian in public places. Changes can be detected not only at point level, but also at object level. The changes of cars parking on street sides at different times are detected to help regulate on-street car parking since the parking duration is limited. In this case, cars are detected in the first place, then they are compared with corresponding ones. Apart from car changes, parking positions and car types are also important information for parking management. All the processes are solved in a supervised learning framework. Furthermore, a model-based car reconstruction method is proposed to precisely locate cars. The model parameters are also treated as car features for better decision making. Moreover, the geometrically accurate models can be used for visualization purposes. Under the theme of change detection, related topics, e.g. tracking, classification, modelling, are also studied for the reason of practical applications. More importantly, the change detection methods are applied to different data acquisition geometries at multiple temporal-scales. [Termes IGN] triangulation de DelaunayRésumé : (auteur) Detection and characterisation of spatial patterns is crucial for cartographic generalisation since it entails preserving the patterns as much as possible within scale limits. Building alignments are commonly confronted patterns in the topographic maps/databases. They are perceptually recognised in accordance with relevant Gestalt factors, namely proximity, similarity, common orientation and continuity. This study is concentrated on how to characterise building alignments detected by automated or manual methods. To this end, new measures based on Delaunay triangulation and regression line/curve are established to correspond to the Gestalt factors. The relationship between the measures and Gestalt principles has been illustrated with a decision tree. An index value was computed by total sum of measures’ values to compare and order alignments from quality aspect. Additionally, a supervised classification was performed with C4.5 algorithm thus a decision tree was obtained to be able to both associate the quality categories with the measure values and automatically assign alignments into a quality class. The findings demonstrate that proposed measures are substantially effective for representing Gestalt factors. The proposed methods can potentially enhance and ease the characterisation of building alignments in topographic map generalization.
