[Termes IGN] regroupement de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) Active learning (AL) seeks to interactively construct a smaller training data set that is the most informative and useful for the supervised classification task. Based on the multiview Adaptive Maximum Disagreement AL method, this study investigates the principles and capability of several approaches for the view generation for hyperspectral data classification, including clustering, random selection, and uniform subset slicing methods, which are then incorporated with dynamic view updating and feature space bagging strategies. Tests on Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer and Hyperion hyperspectral data sets show excellent performance as compared with random sampling and the simple version support vector machine margin sampling, a state-of-the-art AL method. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (Auteur) Vehicle-borne laser-scanned point clouds have become increasingly important 3D data sources in fields such as digital city modeling and emergency response management. Aiming at reducing the technical bottlenecks of management and visualization of very large point cloud data sets, this paper proposes a new spatial organization method called 3DOR-Tree, which integrates Octree and 3D R-Tree data structures. This method utilizes Octree's rapid convergence to generate R-Tree leaf nodes, which are inserted directly into the R-Tree, thus avoiding time-consuming point-by-point insertion operations. Furthermore, this paper extends the R-Tree structure to support LOD (level of detail) models. Based on the extended structure, a practical data management method is presented. Finally, an adaptive control method for LODS of point clouds is illustrated. Typical experimental results show that our method possesses quasi-real-time index construction speed, a good storage utilization rate, and efficient visualization performance. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Many Geographic Information Systems (GIS) handle a large volume of geospatial data. Spatial joins over two or more geospatial datasets are very common operations in GIS for data analysis and decision support. However, evaluating spatial joins can be very time intensive due to the size of datasets. In this paper, we propose an interactive framework that provides faster approximate answers of spatial joins. The proposed framework utilizes two statistical methods: probabilistic join and sampling based join. The probabilistic join method provides speedup of two orders of magnitude with no correctness guarantee, while the sampling based method provides an order of magnitude improvement over the full indexing tree joins of datasets and also provides running confidence intervals. The framework allows users to trade-off speed versus bounded accuracy, hence it provides truly interactive data exploration. The two methods are evaluated empirically with real and synthetic datasets. [Vedettes matières IGN] GéovisualisationIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) Nowadays large amounts of data are organized in tables, especially in relational databases where the rows store the data items to which multiple attributes are stored in the columns. Information stored this way, having multiple (more than two or three) attributes, can be treated as multivariate data. Therefore, visualization methods for multivariate data have a large application area and high potential utility. This thesis focuses on the application of 3D scatter plots for the visualization of multivariate data. When dealing with 3D, spatial perception needs to be exploited, by effectively using depth cues to convey spatial information to the user. To improve the presentation of individual 3D scatter plots, a technique is presented that applies illumination to them, thus using the shape-from-shading depth cue. To enable the analysis not only of 3D but of multivariate data, a novel technique is introduced that allows the navigation between 3D scatter plots. Inspecting the large number of 3D scatter plots that can be projected from a multivariate data set is very time consuming. The analysis of multivariate data can benefit from automatic machine learning approaches. A presented method uses decision trees to increase the speed a user can gain an understanding of the multivariate data at no extra cost. Stereopsis can also support the display of 3D scatter plots. Here an improved anaglyph rendering technique is presented, significantly reducing ghosting artifacts. The technique is not only applicable for information visualization, but for general rendering or to present stereoscopic image data. Some information visualization algorithms require high computation time. Many of these algorithms can be parallelized to run interactively. A framework that supports the parallelization on shared and distributed memory systems is presented. Note de contenu : Introduction
