[Termes IGN] traitement du signalIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) Le système de cognition artificielle est un système informatique capable d'assimiler les mécanismes cognitifs tels que la mémorisation des informations imprécises, l'apprentissage et l'auto-organisation. Le SCARN, système de cognition artificielle à base de réseaux de neurones, que nous avons proposé dans cette thèse a été conçu comme une architecture générale. Il a pour objectif de traiter des problèmes complexes et non-linéaires à travers l’approche cognitive. Le développement des applications sous SCARN suit un processus en 4 étapes : élaboration du projet, analyse du problème, apprentissage et utilisation du SCARN élaboré. Les formalisations de la structure spatiale et du système dynamique sont réalisées de manière unifiée à l'aide de l'approche cognitive. Ceci nous permet d'appliquer le SCARN au problème géographique général doté des propriétés attributaires, spatiales et temporelles. Cette thèse termine avec la mise en œuvre d'un progiciel baptise AppSCARN en vue de développer diverses applications géographiques. Note de contenu : Introduction

L'objet de ce travail est d'analyser les potentialités offertes par la télédétection satellitaire pour réaliser ces mises à jour dans une région représentative de la forêt "moyenne" française. Pour cette étude, un jeu d'images SPOT multispectrales et Landsat TM a été acquis pour couvrir, de 1988 à 1992, la région forestière des Monts de Lacaune (Tarn) caractérisée par son relief de moyenne montagne et par la diversité de ses peuplements. [Termes IGN] variogrammeIndex. décimale : THESE Thèses et HDR Résumé : (auteur) L'analyse en multirésolution, et plus particulièrement l'analyse en ondelettes apporte un nouveau cadre à l'analyse du signal en général et de l'image en particulier. Nous pouvons ainsi adopter une stratégie d'analyse allant du plus grossier au plus fin, extraire alors les détails propres à chaque niveau de perception et avoir une analyse du signal qui s'affine au fur et à mesure que l'on remonte dans les échelles. Cette thèse s'inscrit dans le cadre de l'analyse d'images et plus particulièrement au traitement d'images appliqué à quelques problèmes de télédétection. Dans la première partie, nous proposons une nouvelle méthode automatique de recalage géométrique d'images, basée sur une approche multi-échelles de la détection des points d'amer et du calcul du modèle de déformation. Les points d'amer sont détectés aux très grandes échelles (très basses résolutions spatiales) où peu de structures existent, ce qui permet d'avoir un appariement aisé à partir duquel un modèle de déformation approximatif est estimé. Ce dernier est ensuite affiné au fur et à mesure que l'on remonte dans les échelles jusqu'à converger vers le modèle optimal à la résolution la plus fine. Les résultats obtenus sont excellents, et cette méthode a été appliquée avec succès à divers capteurs (SPOT, LANDSAT) pour le recalage d'images de même résolution ainsi que de résolutions différentes. Dans la deuxième partie, nous avons essayé de cartographier les variations résultant de visées sous des angles différents dans un couple d'images stéréo. Pour cela nous avons cherché à établir la carte des disparités entre ce couple d'images de manière automatique en utilisant au mieux l'information multi-échelles entre les images. Nous avons pour cela développé une méthode originale de calcul des disparités en tout point de l'image, basée sur une décomposition en ondelettes et utilisant les notions de variogramme et de krigeage en multi-échelles. Les résultats ainsi obtenus sont excellents et ont été validés par un test statistique et un recalage géométrique des images, recalage qui s'est avéré performant. Le troisième et dernier volet de cette thèse, a porté sur l'étude de la ressemblance entre deux images d'une même scène aux différentes échelles d'analyse. Ainsi deux images assez semblables, avaient en réalité une quantité d'information assez différente suivant les échelles, allant d'une information importante aux très grandes échelles, à une information de plus en plus faible au fur et à mesure que l'on remonte dans les échelles. Cela tendrait à dire que la différence fondamentale entre deux images multidates d'une même scène se situe principalement dans les hautes fréquences, c'est-à-dire que les images diffèrent principalement par leurs détails les plus fins. Cette différence d'information ne nous permet pas d'envisager une approche multi-échelles pour le recalage radiométrique des images, par contre, il est possible de cartographier les différences du couple d'images, échelle par échelle. Il est donc parfaitement envisageable d'utiliser cette différence d'information dans un processus de classification, classification qui utilisera l'information multi-échelles en place et lieu de l'information multispectrale.
