[Termes IGN] zone à risqueRésumé : (auteur) Hong Kong frequently suffers from multi-hazards such as floods, muddy-water flows and landslides induced by rainstorms. This study presents an improved multi criteria decision making (MCDM) approach with integrating the interval numbers into fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) to assess multi-hazard risks. To illustrate the efficiency of the improved MCDM method, the AHP, interval-FAHP and analytical network process (ANP) were incorporated into a geographical information system (GIS, abbreviated as AHP-GIS, interval-FAHP-GIS, and ANP-GIS) to assess the risks of multi-hazards (e.g., floods, muddy-water flows, and landslides) in Hong Kong. The assessed multi-risks indicated that the percentages of areas with a high risk of flood, muddy-water flow, and landslide were more than 15%, 17%, and 18%, respectively. The results demonstrated that MCDM methods considered multi-criteria contributions on multi hazards. Different assessment factors contributed different importance on different multi-hazard risks. The comparison indicates that interval-FAHP-GIS perform better than AHP-GIS and ANP-GIS in capturing high-risk areas. The interval-FAHP-GIS method adopts interval fuzzy numbers instead of crisp numbers in AHP-GIS to reflect the degree of importance of assessment factors, which increases the accuracy of the assessed multi-risks. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Urban functional zone mapping is essential for providing deeper insights into urban morphology and improving urban planning. The emergence of Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), which provides abundant semantic data, offers a great opportunity to enrich land use information extracted from remote sensing (RS) images. Taking advantage of very-high-resolution (VHR) images and VGI data, this work proposed a SATL multifeature ensemble learning framework for mapping urban functional zones that integrated 65 features from the shapes of building objects, attributes of points of interest (POIs) tags, locations of cellphone users and textures of VHR images. The dimensionality of SALT features was reduced by the autoencoder, and the compressed features were applied to train the ensemble learning model composed of multiple classifiers for optimizing the urban functional zone classification. The effectiveness of the proposed framework was tested in an urbanized region of Nanchang City. The results indicated that the SALT features considering population dynamics and building shapes are comprehensive and feasible for urban functional zone mapping. The autoencoder has been proven efficient for dimension reduction of the original SALT features as it significantly improves the classification of urban functional zones. Moreover, the ensemble learning outperforms other machine learning models in terms of the accuracy and robustness when dealing with multi-classification tasks. [Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) Floods are frequently occurring events in the Assam region due to the presence of the Brahmaputra River and the heavy monsoon period. An efficient and reliable methodology is utilized to prepare a GIS-based flood risk map for the Assam region, India. At the regional and administrative level, the flood hazard index (FHI), flood vulnerability index (FVI), and flood risk index (FRI) are developed using multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) – analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The selected indicators define the topographical, geological, meteorological, drainage characteristics, land use land cover, and demographical features of Assam. The results show that more than 70%, 57.37%, and 50% of the total area lie in moderate to very high FHI, FVI, and FRI classes, respectively. The proposed methodology can be applied to identify high flood risk zones and to carry out effective flood risk management and mitigation strategies in vulnerable areas. [Termes IGN] structure d'un peuplement forestierRésumé : (auteur) The mapping of ecosystem service (ES) provisioning often lacks decision-makers’ preferences on the ESs provided. Analyzing the related uncertainties can be computationally demanding for a landscape tessellated to a large number of spatial units such as pixels. We propose stochastic multicriteria acceptability analyses to incorporate (unknown or only partially known) decision-makers’ preferences into the spatial forest management prioritization in a Scandinavian boreal forest landscape. The potential of the landscape for the management alternatives was quantified by airborne laser scanning based proxies. A nearest-neighbor imputation method was applied to provide each pixel with stochastic acceptabilities on the alternatives based on decision-makers’ preferences sampled from a probability distribution. We showed that this workflow could be used to derive two types of maps for forest use prioritization: one showing the alternative that a decision-maker with given preferences should choose and another showing areas where the suitability of the forest structure suggested different alternative than the preferences. We discuss the potential of the latter approach for mapping management hotspots. The stochastic approach allows estimating the strength of the decision with respect to the uncertainty in both the proxy values and preferences. The nearest neighbor imputation of stochastic acceptabilities is a computationally feasible way to improve decisions based on ES proxy maps by accounting for uncertainties, although the need for such detailed information at the pixel level should be separately assessed. [Termes IGN] Wuhan (Chine)Résumé : (auteur) Metro accessibility has attracted interest in sustainable transport analyses. Hence, the accuracy of metro-accessibility measures have become increasingly vital. Various spatiotemporal factors, including by-metro accessibility, land-use accessibility and to-metro accessibility, affect metro accessibility; however, measuring metro accessibility while considering all these components simultaneously is challenging. By integrating these factors into a unified analysis framework, this study aims to strengthen the method for metro-accessibility assessment. Specifically, we proposed the “By metro–Land use–To metro” model to conduct a metro-accessibility index and develop an accessibility-based station typology. The results show that Wuhan metro system accessibility presented a “high-medium-low” spatial disparity from the urban center to the periphery. Meanwhile, the variety of metro-accessibility characteristics and typologies in Wuhan will equip urban planners and policymakers with a useful tool for better organising by-metro accessibility, land-use accessibility and to-metro accessibility.
