[Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (auteur) Forest roads are a basic necessity in forestry policies and should be planned by considering many factors. This study aims to generate optimum forest road routes and to compare them with current forest roads. First, FRNSM has been produced according to AHP, using nine factors for the study area. Then, risk statuses of the current forest roads are examined. According to results, 35% of the total forest road has high risk. A MATLAB-GUI based an application using optimal path algorithm developed for the second stage of the study has been produced. Using this application, optimum forest road routes have been produced for 11 pilot areas selected from the region. Generated routes have been compared with current forest roads in the region. It has been observed that generated routes in all areas are more suitable than current forest roads in terms of total length and average risk of suitability. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) In the last few years, the agricultural sector in Syria has suffered from major problems related to land degradation. To cope with this problem, a land suitability assessment has become an essential tool for sustainable land use management. The present research qualitatively evaluated the suitability of land in the Al-Yarmouk Basin (S-Syria) for rainfed winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivation. In this study, a regional spatial approach involving three steps was developed, based on the method proposed by Sys et al. In the first step, a soil survey was carried out and 107 soil profiles were described, sampled and analyzed. In the second step, climatic gridded datasets from 1984–2014 MRm at a high spatial resolution (30 meters) and the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) were clipped from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) and prepared for the study area. In the third step, a land suitability assessment was performed using the geographical information system (GIS) and multi criteria decision support (MCDS). Soil survey outcomes showed that the study area was dominated by five soil orders: Mollisols, Inceptisols, Vertisols, Entisols and Aridisols. Also, results from the Sys model illustrated that more than 23.8% of the study area is highly suitable (S1–0) for wheat production without any limitations, whereas 38.7% and 37.5% are highly suitable (S1–1) and moderately suitable (S2), respectively. Also, the study emphasizes the important role of topographical factors in the study area for wheat cultivation. All in all, this research suggests W-Syria as a potential region for wheat cultivation, instead of the eastern area which is subject to climate change and a shortage of water. Integrating the Sys-approach and the GIS framework offers a good tool for policy-makers to apply in Syria for land suitability assessments. [Termes IGN] ville intelligenteRésumé : (auteur) Street vitality has become an essential indicator for evaluating the attractiveness and potential of the sustainable development of urban blocks, and it can be reflected by the type and the frequency of people's pedestrian activities on the street. While it is recognized that street built environment features affect pedestrian behavior and street vitality, quantifying the impact of these characteristics remains inconclusive. This paper proposes an automated deep learning approach to quantitatively explore the association between the street built environment and street vitality. First, we established a deep learning model for street vitality classification for automatic evaluation of street vitality based on the volumes and activities of pedestrians in the street through multiple object tracking and scene classification. Then, we applied semantic segmentation to measure five selected vitality-related street built environment variables. Finally, a linear regression model was applied to evaluate the built environment variables’ significance and effects on street vitality. To verify our method's accuracy and applicability, we selected a commercial complex in Osaka as an illustrative example. The experimental results highlight that street width and transparency have significant positive effects on street vitality. Compared with traditional methods, our approach is feasible, reliable, transferable, and more efficient. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) Spatial modeling of migration and the identification of the effective parameters are imperative for planning and managing demographic, economic, social, and environmental changes on various geographical scales. The recent climate change stressors as well as inequality in terms of education and life quality have triggered internal mass migrations in Iran, causing pressure on housing, the job market, and potential slums around large cities. This study proposes a new approach to modeling migration patterns in Iran based on multi-criteria decision analysis. For this purpose, a total of 23 individual criteria embedded within four criteria groups (economic, socio-cultural, welfare, and environmental) affecting national migration were used. The analytic hierarchy process was employed to determine weights for the input factors and the weighted linear combination (WLC) model was used for the integration of criteria, based on which maps of migration potential were produced. The model applied was evaluated based on the correlation coefficient between migration potential values obtained from the WLC model and the actual net migration rate. Among the input individual criteria, unemployment, higher education centers, number of physicians, and dust storms were found to influence national migration. Furthermore, our findings reveal that the potential for migration across Iranian provinces is heterogeneous, with the spatial potential for emigration being the highest and lowest in the border and central provinces, respectively. The correlation coefficient calculated between outputs from the WLC model and the net migration rate from 2011 to 2016, was .81, indicating the relatively high performance of the proposed model in producing a migration spatial potential map. Our proposed approach, along with the results achieved, can be useful to decision-makers and planners in designing data-driven policies against inequality- and climate-induced stressors. [Termes IGN] surveillance hydrologiqueRésumé : (auteur) Traditional methodologies of flood monitoring are generally time-consuming and demanding tasks. In most cases, there is no possibility of flood monitoring in large areas. Due to the major drawbacks of conventional methods in flood detection of large districts, Remote Sensing (RS) has been efficiently employed as the best solution owing to its being synoptic view and cost-effective methodologies. One of the most challenging issues in RS technologies is choosing the optimal spectral bands to detect changes in the natural environment. In this research, Elimination and Choice Expressing Reality (ELECTRE), as one of the most widely used Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques, was applied to select the optimal bands of Sentinel-2 satellite images for detection of flood-affected areas. For this purpose, the decision-making method was implemented during ten options and six criteria. The properties of the Sentinel-2 satellite images consisted of ten bands (with 10 and 20m spatial resolutions) and the criteria are the signal to noise ratio (SNR) related to sensor, standard deviation, variance, the SNR related to the bands, spatial resolution, and wavelength. Afterward, the ELECTRE technique was used to select six optimal bands among ten bands. The ELECTRE algorithm was programmed in MATLAB programming language that could make decisions with multiple options and multiple criteria. Furthermore, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification method, as one of the most powerful Machine Learning (ML) models, has been applied to classify the water bodies related to before and after the flood. According to the results of optimal bands classification, Overall Accuracy (OA) and Kappa Coefficient (KC) for the pre-flood classification were 93.65 percent and 0.923, respectively, and for the post-flood classification, the OA and KC values were 94.52 percent and 0.935 respectively. In the case of before and after flooding, the results of classification model for optimal bands had more accuracy levels in comparison with those obtained by original bands. Generally, it was found that the ELECTRE technique for selecting the best bands of Sentinel-2 satellite images and detection of flood-affected areas, in a short period of time with high accuracy, offers remarkable and consistent results.
