[Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) Roads in mountains areas are exposed to natural hazards such as snow avalanches, torrent floods and rockfalls. Risk depends both on hazard, direct and indirect vulnerability. In case of roads, the indirect vulnerability relates to the consequences of road closures which is rarely assessed. The criticality of these closures depends on the importance of road sections. A new methodology is proposed in the context of natural risks management in mountains. Based on structural networks analysis, it aims to assess the accessibility level of mountain territories and to identify critical roads sections depending both on their exposure to phenomenons but also on the importance of roads on economic, social, environmental contexts. The structural network analysis allows to describe how far the network properties conditions the accessibility from one point to another. This approach is combined to multicriteria decision making to assess importance according to economic, social or human factors but also fragility, resilience or risk sensitivity on road sections. [Termes IGN] voisinage (relation topologique)Résumé : (Auteur) The article focuses on one of the most often used GIS-based multicriteria analysis methods: the weighted linear combination (WLC). The WLC model has traditionally been used as a global approach based on the implicit assumption that its parameters do not vary as a function of geographical space. This assumption is often unrealistic in real-world situations. The article proposes a new approach to GIS-based multicriteria analysis. It develops a local form of the global WLC model. The range sensitivity principle is used as a central concept for developing the local WLC model. The principle postulates that the greater the range of criterion values is, the greater the weight assigned to that criterion should be. Consequently, the local criterion weight can be defined for each neighborhood within a study area as a function of the range of criterion values in a given neighborhood. The range of criterion values provides also the base for defining the local value function. The article presents the theory behind the local WLC modeling and illustrates an implementation of the model in a GIS environment. [Termes IGN] processus de hiérarchisation analytiqueRésumé : (Auteur) This article compares two fuzzy approaches to land suitability evaluations, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Ideal Point. The methods were evaluated using a case study which models the opportunities for wheat production under irrigation conditions in the north-western region of Jeffara Plain, Libya. A number of relevant soil and landscape criteria were identified through a review of the literature and their weights specified as a result of discussions with local experts. The results of the Fuzzy AHP showed that the majority of the study area has membership values to the set of suitability between 0.40 and 0.50, while the results of the Ideal Point approach revealed most of the study area to have membership values between 0.30 and 0.40. While the Fuzzy AHP and Ideal Point approaches accommodate the continuous nature of many soil properties and produce more intuitive distributions of land suitabilities values, the Fuzzy AHP approach was found to be better than Fuzzy Ideal Point. This was due to the latter's tendency to be biased towards positive and negative ideal values.
