All three papers deal with problems of interpolation, prediction and collocation. Otherwise they have quite different character.
The first paper, "Analysis of Satellite Gradiometry Data for Local Geoid Determination", is a feasibility study on the possibility of using satellite gradiometry to improve the accuracy of the geoid in local areas. The basis are variances of geoidal heights estimated by means of least-squares collocation.
The second and third paper are descriptions of programs. The "Program to Estimate Gravity Anomalies from a Given Set of Gravity Values" uses least-squares prediction to interpolate point and mean gravity anomalies and to estimate their accuracy. "A Fortran IV Program to Calculate and Plot Isolines" is designed for automatical plotting of isolines on the basis of a regular rectangular grid of data points. An interesting feature of this work is the way of overcoming the singular case of intersecting (or nearly intersecting) contour lines.
The first paper is of interest not only because it furnishes definite numerical answers on accuracies obtainable in the problem under consideration, but also because it uses a method that can be applied to other feasibility studies in physical geodesy. The programs in the second and third paper might be useful to people who work practically on problems of interpolation and graphical representation of results.Numéro de notice : 44320 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : POSITIONNEMENT Nature : Recueil / ouvrage collectif Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=42723 Réservation
