[Termes IGN] terminologieRésumé : (auteur) Despite the extensive discussion on the educational potential of GIS and the changes made in the curricula in many countries, the implementation of GIS in classrooms has still been relatively slow. This is because of variables limiting the process of GIS implementation in lessons. Although research into the limits of GIS implementation has been carried out quite extensively, there is a need for knowledge systematisation in the field. Therefore, the presented systematic review of 34 empirical studies addresses this need and pays attention to the methodological approaches used to research the limits, the identified limits of GIS implementation, their categorisation, and any temporal trends in their occurrence. Altogether, the analysed studies identified 68 limits of GIS implementation in education using mainly quantitative methodology (especially the questionnaire), with utmost attention paid to teachers as participants. These limits then formed complex categorisation that distinguishes elementarily between the limits related to humans and resources. The most frequent and variable category of limits was teachers followed by technology, while both kept their positions in all periods. The systematisation of the research enables the formulation of implications for educational and geoinformatics practice and recommendations for future research. [Termes IGN] logementRésumé : (auteur) In Japan, the rise in vacant housing has created the need to develop quick, effective, and inexpensive methods to detect the spatial distribution of vacant housing at the municipal level. However, due to incomplete and inaccessible data, the change in the accuracy of the vacant housing detection model must be evaluated while accounting for the limited data. Therefore, this study compares the performance of vacant housing detection models for different data combinations (Basic Resident Register; building registration, water usage, and national census) by considering Wakayama City, Japan, as the case study setting. Three main findings emerged: (1) the contribution of the data to the accuracy varies with the combination of datasets and metrics; (2) even if specific municipal data are unavailable, it is possible to acquire a similar accuracy by combining other data; and (3) the missing value contributes to the vacant housing detection rather than the feature value itself. [Termes IGN] ville intelligenteRésumé : (auteur) A considerable amount of demolition waste (DW) generated by urbanization and urban renewal has brought significant threats to the environment. However, there is a serious lack of environmental impact assessment towards city-scale demolition waste management (DWM), particularly from the systematical and dynamical perspective. Traditionally the assessment has been conducted from a static perspective. The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively evaluate the environmental impact of city-scale DWM from a complex system perspective. A novel evaluation model was developed by innovatively integrating the geographic information system (GIS) and system hybrid simulation consisting of system dynamics (SD), agent-based modeling (ABM) and discrete event simulation (DES). The proposed model was verified. Based on an empirical analysis of Shenzhen, China, it is found that the environmental impact of city-scale DWM is mainly concentrated in the central and northeastern regions of Shenzhen, demonstrating spatial heterogeneity and regional aggregation. Furthermore, the results reveal that the model is robust and effective to assess environmental impact from four aspects, i.e., land occupation, water pollution, air pollution and energy consumption. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the status quo of city-scale DWM and accompanying environmental impacts, and coordinating various district governments to formulate effective DWM policies. [Termes IGN] lissage de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) The main difficulty of panchromatic-multispectral image fusion is to balance the quality of spatial information and the spectral fidelity. Most of the practical fusion methods determine the optimal parameters based on the spatial and spectral characteristics of all original panchromatic and multispectral bands. However, for built-up and non-built-up areas (like cropland, forest) in one image, there may be large differences in their spatial and spectral characteristics, so their fused results are not optimal respectively with same parameters. To address above issues, this paper presents a high-resolution satellite image fusion method assisted with building segmentation. First, the proposed approach computes the average gradient and Gaussian filtering parameters of built-up and non-built-up areas separately according to the building segmentation results, on the basis of smoothing filter-based intensity modulation (SFIM). Then the intermediate data of two types of areas are computed in parallel and they are composited to obtain the final fused image, weighted by the pixel-wise “building factors” derived from the building segmentation results. Moreover, to better simulate the spatial characteristics of the multispectral image, we perform the “gradient simulation” operation to extract the gradient values in the multispectral image. Experimental results on Jilin-1 satellite images show that the proposed method provides competitive performance in spatial resolution, multispectral fidelity and quantity of information, as compared to the state-of-the-art methods in mainstream commercial software.
