It is primarily based on source-code descriptions of the KSGSoft program developed by the author at the GFZ in Postdam. The theory and algorithms are revised and extended for a new development of a multiple functional GPS software. New concepts suchs as the unified GPS data processing method and ambiguity-ionospheric algorithm, as well as general ambiguity search criteria, are reported for the first time. Mathematically rigorous, the book begins with the basics of coordinate and time systems and satellite orbits, as well as GPS observables, and deals with topic such as physical influences, observation equation, adjustment and filtering, ambiguity resolution, data processing, kinematic positioning, and, the determination of perturbed orbits. [Termes IGN] réseau permanent EUREFRésumé : (Auteur) (Introduction) [...] This work was realised in the frame of geodynamics investigations in collaboration with the CNRS (Nice) and Purdue University. The authors were primary interested in the determination of horizontal velocities for geodynamics investigations, but the combination provided also some correlated results that are described in this contribution. We present hereafter a combination of position-velocities solutions coming from (1) a selection of 36 ITRF2000 sites, (2) a solution from a subset of sites of the European Permanent GPS Network (EUREF-EPN), (3) a solution of the French national geodetic permanent GPS network (RGP), and (4) a solution of a permanent GPS network in the western Alps (REGAL). The resulting velocity field describes horizontal crustal motion at 64 sites in western Europe with an accuracy better than I mm/yr. It is then used it to assess the level of rigidity of the Eurasian plate interior in Europe. [Termes IGN] secteur spatialRésumé : (Auteur) In this short contribution, it is demonstrated how integer carrier phase cycle ambiguity resolution will perform in near future, when the US GPS gets modernized and the european Galileo becomes operational. The capability of ambiguity resolution is analyzed in the context of precise differential positioning over short, medium and long distances. Starting from dual-frequency operation with GPS at present, particularly augmenting the number of satellites turns out to have beneficial consequences on the capability of correctly resolving the ambiguities. With a "double" constellation, on short baselines, the confidence of the integer ambiguity solution increases to a level of 0,99999999 or beyond.
