[Termes IGN] station de travail de photogrammétrie numériqueRésumé : (auteur) The development of applied geodetic techniques for mapping and documentation of historical structures, buildings and sites is an important and vital purpose for contribution of any recording of cultural heritage for any country such as Egypt. This is done to preserve and restore any valuable architectural or other cultural monument, as a support to architectural, archaeological and other art-historical research throughout the ages. The purpose of this paper is to use close range photogrammetry technique (CRP) to reconstruct 3D model of architectural and historical mosque facade and comparing the accuracy of using digital commercial non-metric cameras with different resolutions and metric camera with flatbed scanner and photogrammetric scanner for architectural building documentation. El-Nasr Mosque façade in Mansoura city, Egypt was chosen as a case study in this paper. At first, twenty five points were selected at mosque façade at different elevations and distributed at different façade surfaces and observed using total station. Some of these points were selected as control points and the others were selected as check points to validate the results. Effect of control point’s number on image processing and analysis is also studied. Three cameras positions were selected for imaging to get the full details of mosque façade. Close range Digital Workstation (CDW) program was used for processing and analysis of multiple images. The results are indicated that close range photogrammetry using metric camera with photogrammetry scanner instead of flatbed scanner in technique is accurate enough to be beneficial in 3D architectural building documentation. Digital cameras with CRP technique give up different accuracy that depends mainly on the resolution of cameras and camera specifications. [Termes IGN] système de numérisation mobileRésumé : (auteur) The Ladybug5 is an integrated, multi‐camera system that features a near‐spherical field of view. It is commonly deployed on mobile mapping systems to collect imagery for 3D reality capture. This paper describes an approach for the geometric modelling and self‐calibration of this system. The collinearity equations of the pinhole camera model are augmented with five radial lens distortion terms to correct the severe barrel distortion. Weighted relative orientation stability constraints are added to the self‐calibrating bundle adjustment solution to enforce the angular and positional stability between the Ladybug5’s six cameras. Centimetre‐level 3D reconstruction accuracy can be achieved, with image‐space precision and object‐space accuracy improved by 92% and 93% , respectively, relative to a two‐term lens distortion model. Sub‐pixel interior orientation stability and millimetre‐level relative orientation stability were also demonstrated over a 10‐month period. [Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (Auteur) This paper determines the capability of two photogrammetric systems in terms of their measurement uncertainty in an industrial context. The first system–V-STARS INCA3 from Geodetic Systems Inc. – is a commercially available measurement solution. The second system comprises an off-the-shelf Nikon D700 digital camera fitted with a 28 mm Nikkor lens and the research-based Vision Measurement Software (VMS). The uncertainty estimate of these two systems is determined with reference to a calibrated constellation of points determined by a Leica AT401 laser tracker. The calibrated points have an average associated standard uncertainty of 12.4 µm, spanning a maximum distance of approximately 14.5 m. Subsequently, the two systems’ uncertainty was determined. V-STARS INCA3 had an estimated standard uncertainty of 43.1 lm, thus outperforming its manufacturer’s specification; the D700/VMS combination achieved a standard uncertainty of 187 µm.
