[Termes IGN] traitement répartiRésumé : (auteur) The paper presents the details of designing and developing GeoSpark, which extends the core engine of Apache Spark and SparkSQL to support spatial data types, indexes, and geometrical operations at scale. The paper also gives a detailed analysis of the technical challenges and opportunities of extending Apache Spark to support state-of-the-art spatial data partitioning techniques: uniform grid, R-tree, Quad-Tree, and KDB-Tree. The paper also shows how building local spatial indexes, e.g., R-Tree or Quad-Tree, on each Spark data partition can speed up the local computation and hence decrease the overall runtime of the spatial analytics program. Furthermore, the paper introduces a comprehensive experiment analysis that surveys and experimentally evaluates the performance of running de-facto spatial operations like spatial range, spatial K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and spatial join queries in the Apache Spark ecosystem. Extensive experiments on real spatial datasets show that GeoSpark achieves up to two orders of magnitude faster run time performance than existing Hadoop-based systems and up to an order of magnitude faster performance than Spark-based systems. A preeminent problem affecting urban planning is the appropriate choice of location to host a particular activity (either commercial or common welfare service) or the correct use of an existing building or empty space. In this thesis we propose an approach to address the preceding challenges availed with machine learning techniques with the random forests classifier as its dominant method in a system that combines, blends and merges various types of data from different sources, encode them using a novel semantic model that can capture and utilize both low-level geometric information and higher level semantic information and subsequently feeds them to the random forests classifier. The data are also forwarded to alternative classifiers and the results are appraised to confirm the prevalence of the proposed method. The data retrieved stem from a multitude of sources, e.g. open data providers and public organizations dealing with urban planning. Upon their retrieval and inspection at various levels (e.g. import, conversion, geospatial) they are appropriately converted to comply with the rules of the semantic model and the technical specifications of the corresponding subsystems. Geometrical and geographical calculations are performed and semantic information is extracted. Finally, the information from individual earlier stages along with the results from the machine learning techniques and the multicriteria methods are integrated into the system and visualized in a front-end web based environment able to execute and visualize spatial queries, allow the management of three-dimensional georeferenced objects, their retrieval, transformation and visualization, as a decision support system. [Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) We present a fully-supervized method for learning to segment data structured by an adjacency graph. We introduce the graph-structured contrastive loss, a loss function structured by a ground truth segmentation. It promotes learning vertex embeddings which are homogeneous within desired segments, and have high contrast at their interface. Thus, computing a piecewise-constant approximation of such embeddings produces a graph-partition close to the objective segmentation. This loss is fully backpropagable, which allows us to learn vertex embeddings with deep learning algorithms. We evaluate our methods on a 3D point cloud oversegmentation task, defining a new state-of-the-art by a large margin. These results are based on the published work of Landrieu and Boussaha 2019. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) In this article, we investigate several structured deep learning models for crop type classification on multi-spectral time series. In particular, our aim is to assess the respective importance of spatial and temporal structures in such data. With this objective, we consider several designs of convolutional, recurrent, and hybrid neural networks, and assess their performance on a large dataset of freely available Sentinel-2 imagery. We find that the best-performing approaches are hybrid configurations for which most of the parameters (up to 90%) are allocated to modeling the temporal structure of the data. Our results thus constitute a set of guidelines for the design of bespoke deep learning models for crop type classification. The proposed approach comprises two systems. The first one concerns environment perception. This task is carried out using deep learning techniques to automatically extract 2D visual features and use them to learn in order to distinguish the different objects in the driving scenarios. Three deep learning techniques are adopted: semantic segmentation to assign each image pixel to a class, instance segmentation to identify separated instances of the same class and, image classification to further recognize the specific labels of the instances. Here our system segments 15 object classes and performs traffic sign recognition. The second system refers to path tracking. In order to follow a path, the equipped vehicle first travels and records the route with a stereo vision system and a GPS receiver (learning step). The proposed system analyses off-line the GPS path and identifies exactly the locations of dangerous (sharp) curves and speed limits. Later after the vehicle is able to localize itself, the vehicle control module together with our speed negotiation algorithm, takes into account the information extracted and computes the ideal speed to execute. Through experimental results of both systems, we prove that, the first one is capable to detect and recognize precisely objects of interest in urban scenarios, while the path tracking one reduces significantly the lateral errors between the learned and traveled path. We argue that the fusion of both systems will ameliorate the tracking approach for preventing accidents or implementing autonomous driving. Note de contenu : I- Context and problems
