[Termes IGN] réseau neuronal artificielRésumé : (auteur) Over the recent two decades, land use/land cover (LULC) drastically changed in Estonia. Even though the population decreased by 11%, noticeable agricultural and forest land areas were turned into urban land. In this work, we analyzed those LULC changes by mapping the spatial characteristics of LULC and urban expansion in the years 2000–2019 in Estonia. Moreover, using the revealed spatiotemporal transitions of LULC, we simulated LULC and urban expansion for 2030. Landsat 5 and 8 data were used to estimate 147 spectral-textural indices in the Google Earth Engine cloud computing platform. After that, 19 selected indices were used to model LULC changes by applying the hybrid artificial neural network, cellular automata, and Markov chain analysis (ANN-CA-MCA). While determining spectral-textural indices is quite common for LULC classifications, utilization of these continues indices in LULC change detection and examining these indices at the landscape scale is still in infancy. This country-wide modeling approach provided the first comprehensive projection of future LULC utilizing spectral-textural indices. In this work, we utilized the hybrid ANN-CA-MCA model for predicting LULC in Estonia for 2030; we revealed that the predicted changes in LULC from 2019 to 2030 were similar to the observed changes from 2011 to 2019. The predicted change in the area of artificial surfaces was an increased rate of 1.33% to reach 787.04 km2 in total by 2030. Between 2019 and 2030, the other significant changes were the decrease of 34.57 km2 of forest lands and the increase of agricultural lands by 14.90 km2 and wetlands by 9.31 km2. These findings can develop a proper course of action for long-term spatial planning in Estonia. Therefore, a key policy priority should be to plan for the stable care of forest lands to maintain biodiversity. [Termes IGN] réseau neuronal de graphesRésumé : (auteur) Collaborative filtering (CF) is initiated by representing users and items as vectors and seeks to describe the relationship between users and items at a profound level, thus predicting users’ preferred behavior. To address the issue that previous research ignored higher-order geographical interactions hidden in users’ historical behaviors, this paper proposes a location-aware neural graph collaborative filtering model (LA-NGCF), which incorporates location information of items for improving prediction performance. The model characterizes the interactions between items based on spatial decay law from a graph perspective and designs two strategies to capture the interaction effects of users and items considering node heterogeneity. An optimized loss function with spatial distances of items is also developed in the model. Extensive experiments are conducted on three publicly available real-world datasets to examine the effectiveness of our model. Results show that LA-NGCF achieves competitive performances compared with several state-of-the-art models, which suggests that location information of items is beneficial for improving the performance of personalized recommendations. This paper offers an approach to incorporate weighted interactions between items into CF algorithms and enriches the methods of utilizing geographical information for artificial intelligence applications. As a case study, the integrated model was tested on 1097 daily traffic collisions data of Karaj-Qazvin freeway from 2009 to 2013 and the results were compared with the conventional ANN prediction model. In this method, initially, the raw collision data were analyzed, normalized, and classified via Geographical Information System (GIS). Partial Autocorrelation Function (PACF) was also utilized to evaluate the temporal autocorrelation for consecutive existing daily data. The results of this study showed that the proposed integrated DWT-ANN method provided higher predictive accuracy in daily traffic collision than ANN model by increasing coefficient of determination (R2) from 0.66 to 0.82. With the development of crowdsourcing technology and map services, points of interest (POIs) have been widely used for recognizing urban land-use types. However, current research methods for land-use classifications have been limited to extracting the spatial relationship of POIs in research units. To close this gap, this study uses a graph-based data structure to describe the POIs in research units, with graph convolutional networks (GCNs) being introduced to extract the spatial context and urban land-use classification. First, urban scenes are built by considering the spatial context of POIs. Second, a graph structure is used to express the scenes, where POIs are treated as graph nodes. The spatial distribution relationship of POIs is considered to be the graph's edges. Third, a GCN model is designed to extract the spatial context of the scene by aggregating the information of adjacent nodes within the graph and urban land-use classification. Thus, the land-use classification can be treated as a classification on a graphic level through deep learning. Moreover, the POI spatial context can be effectively extracted during classification. Experimental results and comparative experiments confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method. Specifically, the walking state of a target pedestrian depends on both its historical trajectory, which encodes its speed, walking direction and acceleration information, as well as the movement of its neighbors. Thus we propose to leverage GCNs to aggregate the trajectory features of the target pedestrian and its neighbors to predict the movement of the target pedestrian. Considering that the movement of the neighbors’ neighbors affects the movement of the target pedestrian’s neighbors, thus indirectly affecting the movement of the target pedestrian, we propose to use a high-order GCN for human–human interaction modelling. Such a high-order GCN considers the target pedestrian’s neighbors as well as its neighbors’ neighbors. Further, a pedestrian avoids collision with others by estimating its locations and its neighbors’ upcoming locations, and it slows down or changes direction if it believes a collision may occur, especially in very crowded scenes. In light of this, we propose to model such anticipation-based decision making behavior as attention and combine it with our high-order GCN. Thus we first roughly estimate the future trajectories of all pedestrians with a simple method. By using the coarse predicted future trajectory and GCN outputs, we calculate the attention in our attention-based high-order GCN and predict future trajectory. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of our approach. In addition, our model shows a higher data efficiency. On the ETH&UCY dataset, using only 5% of the training data for each training epoch, our model outperforms the state of the art.
