[Termes IGN] site archéologiqueRésumé : (Auteur) La technique du laser aéroporté appliquée à un massif forestier de plusieurs centaines d'hectares au Sud de Rastatt en Pays de Bade (D), a permis de détecter plusieurs cas de champs bombés. Ces microreliefs agraires se traduisent par d'amples ondulations résultant de l'utilisation d'anciennes charrues à versoir fixe. Le profil transversal de ces champs lanières de 7 à 15 mètres de largeur peut afficher des dénivelés de l'ordre de 30 à 60 cm. Pour appréhender la trame de ce parcellaire hérité et dissimulé par le couvert forestier (peuplements mixtes), cette étude pilote a fait appel aux données issues de missions laser mises en place par les services du cadastre du Land Bade-Wurtemberg. L'espacement des points (1,50 m en données brutes) et le MNT réalisé à partir des données du dernier écho se sont avérés suffisants pour révéler l'agencement et les caractéristiques géométriques de ces structures agraires fossilisées. La qualité du modèle numérique de terrain obtenu dans ce cas dans le cas de ces structures laisse entrevoir bien d'autres applications pour l'analyse historique des paysages. Dans cette optique, ces nouvelles possibilités de prospection et de rendu en trois dimensions ont fait l'objet de tests dans le cadre de missions LIDAR, coordonnées par le Centre Départemental d'Archéologie du Bas-Rhin, visant divers sites en Alsace. Ces derniers se distinguent par des contextes topographiques, archéologiques et environnementaux très variés (tumulis, bocage lithique, site minier, oppidum, etc.). En fonction des caractéristiques retenues et des résultats obtenus pour les différents types de sites sélectionnés, les premières bases d'un protocole scientifique d'exploitation de cette méthode à des fins archéologiques seront jetées. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser aéroportéRésumé : (Auteur) We present a new algorithm for digital terrain model (DTM) generation from an airborne laser scanning point cloud, called repetitive interpolation (REIN). It is especially applicable in steep, forested areas where other filtering algorithms typically have problems distinguishing between ground returns and off-ground points reflected in the vegetation. REIN can produce a DTM either in a vector grid or in a TIN data structure. REIN is applied after an initial filtering, which involves removal of all negative outliers and removal of many, but not necessarily all, off-ground points by some existing filtering algorithm. REIN makes use of the redundancy in the initially filtered point cloud (FPC) in order to mitigate the effect of the residual off-ground points. Multiple independent random samples are taken from the initial FPC. From each sample, ground elevation estimates are interpolated at individual DTM locations. Because the lower bounds of the distributions of the elevation estimates at each DTM location are almost insensitive to positive outliers, the true ground elevations can be approximated by adding the global mean offset to the lower bounds, which is estimated from the data. The random sampling makes REIN unique among the methods of filtering airborne laser data. While other filters behave deterministically, always generating a filter error in special situations, in REIN, because of its random aspects, these errors do not occur in each sample, and typically cancel out in the final computation of DTM elevations. Reduction of processing time by parallelization of REIN is possible. REIN was tested in a test area of 2 hectares, encompassing steep relief covered by mixed forest. An Optech ALTM 1020 lidar was used, with a flying height of 260–300 m above the ground, the beam divergence was 0.3 mrad, and the obtained point cloud density for the last returns was 8.5 m- 2. A DTM grid was generated with 1 m horizontal resolution. The root mean square elevation error of the DTM ranged between 1 0.16 m and 1 0.37 m, depending on REIN sampling rate and number of samples taken, the lowest value achieved with 4 samples and using a 23% sampling rate. The paper also gives a short overview on existing filtering algorithms. [Termes IGN] zone tropicale humideRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, we evaluate the impacts of land-use/cover changes (LUCC) on sediment loads at the outlets of five sub watersheds of the Poyang Lake watershed by integrating remote sensing and GIS with statistical analysis. The intensively farmed watershed is characterized by a mountainous and hilly topography and a rainy climate. The primary goal of this paper is to help a better understanding of land-use/cover change and its driving forces. We discuss spatio temporal variations in rainfall and sediment loads and identify factors contributing to those variations, analyze the comprehensive impacts of land-use/cover change on changing climate and human activities, and conclude that the changing rates of forest cover and climate regimes are primary factors for sediment discharges in the Poyang Lake watershed. Our results suggest that the eco-system still have large capacities to support human activities in the area. [Termes IGN] Texas (Etats-Unis)Résumé : (Auteur) This paper describes a spectral analysis of several coastal land cover types in South Padre Island, Texas using AISA+ hyperspectral remote sensing data. AISA+ hyperspectral data (1.5 metre) were acquired throughout the area on 9 March 2005. Data over mangrove areas were converted to percent reflectance using four 88 metre reflectance tarps (4%, 16%, 32% and 48%) and empirical line calibration. These data were then compared to percent reflectance values of other terrestrial features to determine the ability of AISA+ data to distinguish features in coastal environments. Results suggest that these data may be appropriate to discriminate coastal mangrove vegetation and provide researchers with high resolution spatial and spectral information to more effectively manage coastal ecosystems.
