[Termes IGN] Royaume-UniRésumé : (Auteur) The principles of the UK's Digital Natioanl Framework (DNF) are being adopted widely and it is seen as a cornerstone for the development of a spatial data infrastructure across Europe. However, the need for a marine component has largely been ignored. This articles describes how, in the UK, SeaZone Solutions is creating marine geographic information to allow the DNF to be extended offshore the UK and potentielly farther afield. [Termes IGN] téléphonie mobileRésumé : (Editeur) Long-Term Orbit or "extended ephemeris" technology delivers assistance data to assisted GPS (AGPS) devices without requiring wireless connectivity to an AGPS server. Valid for a span of days, LTO data can be obtained through Internet docking, reducing connectivity requirements. A conventional AGPS device must connect to a server almost to hourly to get refreshed assistance data. [Termes IGN] Union EuropéenneRésumé : (Auteur) Effective GI interoperability will be achieved only by starting from the foundations of GI. The deepest foundations, Coordinate Reference Systems, have already been made interoperable by the definition of the common European system ETRS89. The next stage is to tackle interoperability for Reference Information - the basic information on which most users hook their own information. This is the aim of the Eurospec programme initiated by EuroGeographics.
