[Termes IGN] Wuhan (Chine)Résumé : (auteur) Location prediction based on spatio-temporal footprints in social media is instrumental to various applications, such as travel behavior studies, crowd detection, traffic control, and location-based service recommendation. In this study, we propose a model that uses geotags of social media to predict the potential area containing users’ next locations. In the model, we utilize HiSpatialCluster algorithm to identify clustering areas (CAs) from check-in points. CA is the basic spatial unit for predicting the potential area containing users’ next locations. Then, we use the LINE (Large-scale Information Network Embedding) to obtain the representation vector of each CA. Finally, we apply BiLSTM-CNN (Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory-Convolutional Neural Network) for location prediction. The results show that the proposed ensemble model outperforms the single LSTM or CNN model. In the case study that identifies 100 CAs out of Weibo check-ins collected in Wuhan, China, the Top-5 predicted areas containing next locations amount to an 80% accuracy. The high accuracy is of great value for recommendation and prediction on areal unit. [Termes IGN] sédimentRésumé : (auteur) Folk's textual classification scheme which is widely used for sediment study operates with the proportions of gravel, sand, silt and clay fractions conventionally. However, dealing with data from different sources usually needs to face missing values that may make the classification difficult. To solve this problem and discover other methods of analyzing the scheme, with samples of offshore seabed sediment, a two-stage model was established to predict a sample's class using the XGBoost algorithm as well as the grain size parameters as input features. The final model was evaluated with quantitative performance measures of recall, precision and F1 score, and by comparing sediment texture maps using the predicted and the actual data. The results show that the model performs well on extraction of sediment samples without gravel fraction, and prediction of classes that have independent characteristics of grain size parameters or samples not near the boundaries of classes in the ternary diagram. The predicted sediment texture is close to the actual and could be reliable due to errors with little impact on further applications. It is demonstrated that the model could be an auxiliary or alternative approach to offshore sediment texture mapping, as well as supplementary to the analysis of sedimentary environment. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) Low-sampling-rate floating car data (FCD) are more challenging than those with high-sampling-rate FCD for map matching (MM) algorithms. Some MM algorithms for low-sampling-rate FCD lack sufficient efficiency nor accuracy, especially related to complex urban road networks. This paper proposes a new method named the trajectory restoration algorithm, which is based on geometry MM algorithms to ensure efficiency and accuracy. The proposed algorithm adopts the modified A* shortest path algorithm to reduce the number of function calls and fully considers road network topology and historical matched points to improve its accuracy. We test the efficiency and accuracy of the trajectory restoration algorithm with FCD data for the complex urban road networks in Beijing. The results have strong continuity which greatly improves the utilization of FCD. We show that the proposed algorithm outperforms related MM methods in efficiency and accuracy and its robustness to restore trajectories of both high and low sampling rates in complex urban road networks. [Termes IGN] ShenzhenRésumé : (auteur) Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) polarimetry has demonstrated high efficiency in the detection of landslides in vegetated mountainous areas. In such places, post-landslide soil layers appear to correspond to the typical surface scattering mechanism, which is significantly different from the volume scattering behaviour of the surrounding vegetation. However, a landslide in the complex surroundings of various landforms, involving naked hillslopes, construction fields, bare farmlands, and other such aspects, may not be accurately identified owing to the occurrence of surface scattering behaviours. In order to detect landslides using SAR polarimetry without the limitation of vegetated mountainous areas, we propose a novel method of combining change detection (CD) and an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) based on the Yamaguchi decomposition (YD) to identify landslides while ensuring fewer false alarms. In particular, CD is applied to a pair of pre- and post-event datasets to determine the regions modified by landslides or human activities, and the AHP is performed over the post-event dataset to identify the suspect landslide region characterised by the surface scattering mechanism. Finally, the two results are fused by a logical operation to identify the actual landslide by removing the non-modified surface scattering regions. A case study of the Shenzhen landslide in complex surroundings was considered to verify the performance of the proposed method (CD-AHP). The results indicate that the method could clearly define the main body of the Shenzhen landslide from the city suburbs with a small number of false alarms. Therefore, this method provides a considerable perspective for landslide detection in complex surroundings using SAR polarimetry. Under the great attention of the government and the guidance of the major scientific and technological project of the high-resolution earth observation system, China has made continuous breakthroughs and progress in high-resolution remote sensing imaging technology. The development of domestic high-resolution remote sensing satellites shows a vigorous trend, and consequently, a relatively stable and perfect high-resolution earth observation system has been formed. The development of high-resolution remote sensing satellites has greatly promoted and enriched modern mapping technologies and methods. In this paper, the de velopment status, along with mapping modes and applications of China’s high-resolution remote sensing satellites are reviewed, and the development trend in high-resolution earth observation system for global and ground control-free mapping is discussed, providing a reference for the subsequent development of high-resolution remote sensing satellites in China.
