[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) It is well agreed that geologic risk occurs during hydrocarbon exploration because diverse uncertainties accompany the entire hydrocarbon system parameters such as the source rock, reservoir rock, trap and seal rock. In order to overcome such attributes with uncertainties, a number of soft computing methods are used. Information granules could be provided by the Rough Fuzzy Set Granulation (RFSG) with a thorough quality evaluation. This is capable of attribute reduction that has been claimed to be essential in investigating the hydrocarbon systems. This paper is an endeavor to recommend a Geospatial Information System (GIS)-based model with the aim of categorizing the hydrocarbon structures map consistent with the uncertainty range concepts of geologic risk in the rough fuzzy sets and granular computing. The model used the RFSG for the attribute reduction by a Decision Logic language (DL-language). The RFSG was employed in order to classify hydrocarbon structures according to geological risk and extract the fuzzy rules with a predefined range of uncertainty. In order to assess the precisions of the fuzzy decisions on the hydrocarbon structure classification, the fuzzy entropy and fuzzy cross-entropy are applied. The proposed RFSG model applied for 62 structures as the training data, average fuzzy entropy has been calculated as 0.85, whereas the average fuzzy cross-entropy has been calculated 0.18. As it can be discerned, just seven structures had cross-entropies greater than 0.1, while three structures were larger than 0.3. It is implied that the precision of the proposed model is about 89%. The results yielded two reductions for the condition attributes and 11 fuzzy rules being filtered by the granular computing values. [Termes IGN] R (langage)Mots-clés libres : tourterelle des bois Streptopelia turtur Résumé : (auteur) Agricultural changes in recent decades have led to a widespread loss of biodiversity, with habitat loss considered as the main factor in the decline. The European turtle dove is one of the farmland birds that has declined markedly in Europe, leading the IUCN to downgrade its status in 2015 from “Near Threatened” to “Vulnerable”. Knowledge of how habitat factors and agricultural practices influence the turtle dove population is crucial for the conservation of this species through the implementation of targeted measures. Here we investigate how foraging and nesting habitats influence the abundance of turtle doves at national and regional scales, using a 23-year dataset from point counts carried out throughout France, a stronghold country for this species during the breeding season. We found that turtle dove abondance was positively affected by fallow lands, both at national and regional scales. Turtle dove abundance was also negatively affected by fodder crop area at national scale, but the effect was detected in only four of the 13 French regions. We also showed that an increase in hedgerows length had a positive effect on turtle dove abundance. On the other hand, forest edges length showed a bell-shaped trend, suggesting that an increase in forest edges length may have a favourable effect on turtle dove abundance only up to a given threshold. We suggest that targeted conservation measures combining an increase in fallow lands and hedgerows length could allow the stabilisation or even an increase in turtle dove abundance in France, but also in European countries with similar landscapes. [Termes IGN] variation saisonnièreRésumé : (auteur) The effects of drought on tree mortality at forest stands are not completely understood. For assessing their water supply, knowledge of the small-scale distribution of soil moisture as well as its temporal changes is a key issue in an era of climate change. However, traditional methods like taking soil samples or installing data loggers solely collect parameters of a single point or of a small soil volume. Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is a suitable method for monitoring soil moisture changes and has rarely been used in forests. This method was applied at two forest sites in Bavaria, Germany to obtain high-resolution data of temporal soil moisture variations. Geoelectrical measurements (2D and 3D) were conducted at both sites over several years (2015–2018/2020) and compared with soil moisture data (matric potential or volumetric water content) for the monitoring plots. The greatest variations in resistivity values that highly correlate with soil moisture data were found in the main rooting zone. Using the ERT data, temporal trends could be tracked in several dimensions, such as the interannual increase in the depth of influence from drought events and their duration, as well as rising resistivity values going along with decreasing soil moisture. The results reveal that resistivity changes are a good proxy for seasonal and interannual soil moisture variations. Therefore, 2D- and 3D-ERT are recommended as comparatively non-laborious methods for small-spatial scale monitoring of soil moisture changes in the main rooting zone and the underlying subsurface of forested sites. Higher spatial and temporal resolution allows a better understanding of the water supply for trees, especially in times of drought. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) The objective of this study is to predict the near-future flooding status of road segments based on their own and adjacent road segments' current status through the use of deep learning framework on fine-grained traffic data. Predictive flood monitoring for situational awareness of road network status plays a critical role to support crisis response activities such as evaluation of the loss of access to hospitals and shelters. Existing studies related to near-future prediction of road network flooding status at road segment level are missing. Using fine-grained traffic speed data related to road sections, this study designed and implemented three spatio-temporal graph convolutional network (STGCN) models to predict road network status during flood events at the road segment level in the context of the 2017 hurricane Harvey in Harris County (Texas, USA). Model 1 consists of two spatio-temporal blocks considering the adjacency and distance between road segments, while model 2 contains an additional elevation block to account for elevation difference between road segments. Model 3 includes three blocks for considering the adjacency and the product of distance and elevation difference between road segments. The analysis tested the STGCN models and evaluated their prediction performance. Our results indicated that model 1 and model 2 have reliable and accurate performance for predicting road network flooding status in near future (e.g., 2–4 h) with model precision and recall values larger than 98% and 96%, respectively. With reliable road network status predictions in floods, the proposed model can benefit affected communities to avoid flooded roads and the emergency management agencies to implement evacuation and relief resource delivery plans. [Termes IGN] vulnérabilitéRésumé : (auteur) Groundwater is more prone to contamination due to its extensive usage. Different methods are applied to study vulnerability of groundwater including widely used DRASTIC method, SI and GOD. This study proposes a novel method of mapping groundwater vulnerability using machine learning algorithms. In this study, point extraction method was used to extract point values from a grid of 646 points of seven raster layer in the Al Khatim study area of United Arab Emirates. These extracted values were classified based on nitrate concentration threshold of 50 mg/L into two classes. Machine learning models were developed, using depth to water (D), recharge (R), aquifer media (A), soil media (S), topography (T), vadose zone (I) and hydraulic conductivity (C), on the basis of nitrate class. Classified ‘groundwater vulnerability class values’ were trained using 10-fold cross-validation, using four machine learning models which were Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes and C4. 5. Accuracy showed the model developed by Random Forest gained highest accuracy of 93%. Four groundwater vulnerability maps were developed from machine learning classifiers and was compared with base method of DRASTIC index. The efficiency, accuracy and validity of machine learning based models were evaluated based on Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve and Precision-Recall curve (PRC). The results proved that machine learning is an efficient tool to access, analyze and map groundwater vulnerability.
