Note de contenu : - Tour d'horizon
- Gestion de processus
- Gestion de stockage
- Systèmes d'entrée/sortie
- Systèmes répartis

[Termes IGN] service clientRésumé : (auteur) 32 delegates from 9 countries attended the workshop. Participants came from a variety of organisations. These included mapping agencies as well as private surveying companies. There was a good spread from across Europe with others attending from as far as India.
The published first draft of the PPM guide defines PPM as a "Method of customer and supplier working together to ensure the customer requirements are met by the supplier’s processes in a relationship that fosters continual improvement for mutual benefit". The workshop created discussion and debate on applicability and scope of Production Partnership Management (PPM). The workshop agreed that although parties involved in the production of GI have different perspectives they all seek mutually beneficial outcomes. It was accepted that the benefits of Production Programme Management, illustrated by Ordnance Survey and her supplier’s experiences, can facilitate these outcomes. Using the feedback and support gathered at the workshop the PPM document will be redrafted as a document suitable for consideration by TC 211 for inclusion into the body of ISO documents supporting Geographic Information.Numéro de notice : 25396 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Autre URL associée : http://bono.hostireland.com/~eurosdr/km_pub/no54/html/Production_Partnership_Management/proceedings.htm Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Actes DOI : sans En ligne : http://bono.hostireland.com/~eurosdr/km_pub/no54/html/Production_Partnership_Man [...] Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=93674 Convergence analysis and quality criteria for an iterative schematization of networks / S. [Termes IGN] simplification de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) Schematic networks are linear abstractions of functional networks, such as route networks. Lines in the original network are modified in order to produce a schematic network which satisfies a set of constraints chosen to design the network. A method is described which accomplishes this line transformation using an iterative improvement technique driven by design constraints. The method maintains topological characteristics of the network by the use of simple geometric operations and tests. The iterative process can be repeated until the line displacements become small enough or until it meets user denned stopping criteria. Experimental results are provided to examine the acceptability of outcomes and the convergence of the applied iterative technique. Criteria for measuring the quality of results, as well as for stopping the iterative approach are presented. [Termes IGN] temps réelRésumé : (Auteur) In recent years, cartographic Web applications have evolved from closed monolithic applications to open distributed systems in which real-time map rendering components and services play an important role. This progress has required new and flexible ways of defining map symbolization. The development of cartographic interfaces needed to describe the desired map output offers the means to extend current symbolization approaches and adapt the portrayal of data to the most demanding requirements in the area of distributed thematic mapping. This article analyses, in the context of open distributed processing, some of the existing cartographic interfaces that can be used for various cartographic applications and services. At the same time, the article offers a look at the most recent research efforts in this area. [Termes IGN] spécification de contenuRésumé : (Auteur) Ordnance Survey is the national mapping agency of Great Britain. We are always developing our product line and are currently investigating the addition of 3D data. In line with our role as a national mapping agency, the approach is to do this, such that any data is part of a coherent range of products that are sympathetic with the terrain and existing 2D topographic data, are of national cover and are maintained. Such intentions create unique challenges to a mapping agency. These challenges include: 1. Specification determination and an appropriate capture methodology. 2. Data modelling and storage of 3D data. 3. Maintenance of the database. 4. Supply of products in a useful format. This paper will discuss those issues most pertinent to the development of a potential 3D product within Ordnance Survey. Subsequently, a better understanding of the complexity of implementing a 3D dataset into a national mapping agency's product portfolio can be achieved.
