[Termes IGN] résolution d'ambiguïtéIndex. décimale : 30.61 Systèmes de Positionnement par Satellites du GNSS Résumé : (Auteur) Fast and high precision relative positioning with a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is only possible by using the very precise carrier phase measurements. However, these carrier phases are ambiguous by an unknwon number of cycles. The knowledge that the ambiguities are integer-valued has been exploited in the past 15 years for the development of integer ambiguity resolution algorithms. Once the ambiguities are fixed to their integer values, the carrier phase measurements start to act as if they were very precise pseudorange measurements. [...] Nowadays, the non-trivial problem of integer ambiguity estimation can be considered solved. However, a parameter estimation theory is not complete without the appropriate measures to validate the solution. [...] Obviously, validation of the integer ambiguity solution is still an open problem. Two approaches are investigated here. The first method uses a new ambiguity estimator, the Best Integer Equivariant (BIE) estimator. [...] It was shown that the BIE estimator significantly outperforms the float or fixed solution only in a limited number of cases. Therefore, another new class of integer estimators is investigated : the class of Integer Aperture (IA) estimators. [...] IA estimation has several important advantages. [...] Finally, it is shown that the popular ratio test perform almost as good as the optimal IA estimator if the fixed fail rate approach is used. [...] Note de contenu : Summary

[Termes IGN] théodoliteRésumé : (Auteur) Calibration is a set of operations that establish, under specified conditions, the relationship between values of quantities indicated by measuring instrument or system, and the corresponding values realized by standards. Calibration is achieved by means of direct comparison against measurement standards certified reference materials. In geodetic works, there is always the need to ensure the quality of the carried out measurements, in agreement with the proper per project accuracy specifications. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that the measuring accuracy of the instruments weakens during use. In order to achieve the accuracy of the measurements to comply with the specifications or standards, the calibration of the instruments used (from optical theodolites and levels to EDM instruments, Total Stations and GPS systems) is of paramount importance. [Termes IGN] spécification de produitRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents the strategy used to add neighborhood names and footprints to Los Angeles Digital Gazeetteer. The Gazetteer database currently contains 4500 features and is needed to : (1) facilitate the specification of footprint in the Qualified Dublin Core metadata records that are used to describe digital assets ; and (2) support the search for and retrieval of select objects based on location, time, format, and/or keyword. The role of the digital gazetteer and a new browser which will offer the library patron a web-based query form with an interactive map is explained. The interface can be used to draw a query on a map, and it provides a series of pull menus that can be used to specify time periods, formats, collections, and keywords of interest. A new method for specifying neighborhood footprints in the digital gazetteer is described in some detail, and opportunities are highlighted for generalizing the method to help with search and retrieval using the map browser. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) In recent years, there have been many research studies focusing on linear data modeling as well as on temporal GIS-T (GIS for transportation) implementations. However, what was fundamentally missing from the research circle was the study of a methodology for processing and representation of linearly referenced features in the temporal context, or temporal dynamic segmentation. This paper dissects the functional specifications of temporal dynamic segmentation. The authors start by exploring the definition and characteristics of dynamic segmentation. The scope of dynamic segmentation is extended to include two functional categories and three essential functions. The paper then defines spatiotemporal segment and a spatiotemporal join operation, which are the building blocks and the key mechanism behind temporal dynamic segmentation. A set of metric criteria for identifying spatiotemporal segment topologies are proposed as an effective alternative to the more general, but more costly, frameworks for the identification of topological relationships. The authors finally present functional specifications of the three essential functions of dynamic segmentation.
