[Termes IGN] surveillance écologiqueRésumé : (Editeur) Over the last decades, Corporate Sustainable Development (CSD) has become one of the most important challenges for companies facing increasing pressure from regulators and their stakeholders. This new type of sustainability reporting is quite difficult to perform in a consistent and objective manner, as business activities are often large-scale (and even global) and stakeholders (sometimes with diverging interests) can have different views on the positive and negative impact of business activities. Pierre-Philippe Matthieu, who works for the European Space Agency (ESA), explains how earth observation satellites can help in this endeavor.
