[Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) Many existing approaches for image-to-geometry registration assume that either a textured 3D model or a good initial guess of the 3D pose is available to bootstrap the registration process. In this paper we consider the registration of photographs to 3D models even when no texture information is available. This is very challenging as we cannot rely on texture gradients, and even shading gradients are hard to estimate since the lighting conditions are unknown. To that end, we propose average shading gradients, a rendering technique that estimates the average gradient magnitude over all lighting directions under Lambertian shading. We use this gradient representation as the building block of a registration pipeline based on matching sparse features. To cope with inevitable false matches due to the missing texture information and to increase robustness, the pose of the 3D model is estimated in two stages. Coarse pose hypotheses are first obtained from a single correct match each, subsequently refined using SIFT flow, and finally verified. We apply our algorithm to registering images of real-world objects to untextured 3D meshes of limited accuracy. Moreover, we show that registration can be performed even for paintings despite lacking photo-realism. [Termes IGN] segmentation d'imageRésumé : (Auteur) Semantic labeling for indoor scenes has been extensively developed with the wide availability of affordable RGB-D sensors. However, it is still a challenging task for multi-class recognition, especially for “small” objects. In this paper, a novel semantic labeling model based on aggregated features and contextual information is proposed. Given an RGB-D image, the proposed model first creates a hierarchical segmentation using an adapted gPb/UCM algorithm. Then, a support vector machine is trained to predict initial labels using aggregated features, which fuse small-scale appearance features, mid-scale geometric features, and large-scale scene features. Finally, a joint multi-label Conditional random field model that exploits both spatial and attributive contextual relations is constructed to optimize the initial semantic and attributive predicted results. The experimental results on the public NYU v2 dataset demonstrate the proposed model outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods on the challenging 40 dominant classes task, and the model also achieves a good performance on a recent SUN RGB-D dataset. Especially, the prediction accuracy of “small” classes has been improved significantly. [Termes IGN] vision par ordinateurRésumé : (auteur) Images with large-area repetitive texture, significant viewpoint, and illumination changes as well as occlusions often induce high-percentage keypoint mismatches, affecting the performance of vision-based mapping and navigation. Traditional methods for mismatch elimination tend to fail when the percentage of mismatches is high. In order to remove mismatches effectively, a new geometry-based approach is proposed in this paper, where Geometric Correspondence Feature (GCF) is used to represent the tentative correspondence. Based on the clustering property of GCFs from correct matches, a new clustering algorithm is developed to identify the cluster formed by the correct matches.
With the defined quality factor calculated from the identified cluster, a Progressive Sample Consensus (PROSAC) process integrated with hyperplane-model is employed to further eliminate mismatches. Extensive experiments based on both simulated and real images in indoor and outdoor environments have demonstrated that the proposed approach can significantly improve the performance of mismatch elimination in the presence of high-percentage mismatches.Numéro de notice : A2017-690 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE/INFORMATIQUE Nature : Article DOI : 10.14358/PERS.83.10.693 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.14358/PERS.83.10.693 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=87856
