[Termes IGN] vidéo numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) We report on a stereo system for 3D detection and tracking of pedestrians in urban traffic scenes. The system is built around a probabilistic environment model which fuses evidence from dense 3D reconstruction and image-based pedestrian detection into a consistent interpretation of the observed scene, and a multi-hypothesis tracker to reconstruct the pedestrians’ trajectories in 3D coordinates over time. Experiments on real stereo sequences recorded in busy inner-city scenarios are presented, in which the system achieves promising results. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (Auteur) Registration in augmented reality is a process that merges virtual objects generated by a computer with real-world images captured by a camera. In this article, we present a method for registration of geospatial data applicable to outdoor video surveillance systems consisting of several PTZ cameras. PTZ is an abbreviation for pan-tilt-zoom, and in the terminology of video surveillance it indicates cameras that can rotate in the horizontal (pan) and vertical planes (tilt) and change their level of magnification (zoom). Registration is based on transforming these relative camera view parameters into the absolute position, orientation and field of view required by the three-dimensional geographic information systems (3D GISs). Once the 3D GIS and camera views are aligned, it is possible to identify geospatial objects from the camera image, as well as to overlap the virtual scene with the real one. In addition, inverse transformation of the view parameters allows for selecting and pointing the appropriate camera to some geo-referenced feature or event. Based on the proposal, we developed GeoScopeAVS, a GIS-based system for augmented video surveillance and suggested application of such a system in emergency situation management and urban planning. [Termes IGN] vidéo numériqueRésumé : (Auteur) Intergraph's Defense and Intelligence Industry Manager Leah Wood discusses the Motion Video Exploitation solution, which was shown at the US GeoINT conference in 2009 and the EU DGI 2010 conference in London. This new solution fuses multiple motion video data streams with other intelligence data in one high-powered analytical environment. Also, the use of visually displayed telemetry information allows Intergraph's technology to blend motion video into existing architectures and geo-fuse with a vast amount of intelligence data that resides in other systems. [Termes IGN] visualisation simultanéeRésumé : (Auteur) This paper discusses the evaluation of a video stereo-image capture tool for photogrammetric applications. The ‘‘NuView Adapter’’, a commonly available video-image splitting device, and a digital video camera (DV) could be used to capture stereoscopic video footage for many photogrammetric applications in which low-cost near-simultaneous stereo-images are required for 3D viewing or for 3D spatial data capture. Relevant photogrammetric applications might include: aerial surveillance, human/animal motion study (tracking), bank/security surveillance and precise 3D animation. The device permits two distinct views (left and right perspective views) to enter a single lens DV. A single convergence control in the device allows the user to obtain a stereo view of near and far objects. The system is easy to operate and the stereo-images give a good visual 3D effect. Research was carried out to determine the quality of the stereo-image for 3D measurement. The investigation involved: (1) the calibration of a customised system for optimum close range photogrammetric application; and (2) a case study involving motion tracking. A semi-automated monodigitising photogrammetric technique was used to determine the accuracy of the system. The results show that this system could achieve a spatial data accuracy of better than 13 mm at an object distance of 9 m. The horizontal and vertical accuracies are similar to those obtained by the conventional stereoscopic camera technique using a ‘‘normal case’’ configuration with 86% overlap.
