[Termes IGN] salinitéRésumé : (Auteur) A GIS-based framework was developed to assess salinity risk at the sub-catchment level in the Condamine catchment, Australia. Spatial data were used to describe a range of landscape features and processes that influence the risk of salinity occurring. The data were compiled into three core components: biophysical hazard, current management influence and salinity stage. A salinity risk rating was developed for 43 individual surface hydrological sub-catchments within the Condamine catchment by combining the three component rankings in a structured rule framework. The underlying data, decision rules and all associated documents were packaged in an ArcGIS personal geodatabase for use by the client. This allowed the results to be viewed spatially and ensured that the risk assessment process was transparent to users. [Termes IGN] Victoria (Australie)Résumé : (Auteur) This article investigates a new, integrated technique for storing and retrieving spatially varying data quality information in a relational spatial database. Rather than storing global data quality statements, the system enables data quality information to be referenced to a spatial framework, individual spatial objects, or even parts of spatial objects. The integrated model, called as RDBMS for Spatial Variation in Quality (RSVQ), allows flexible storage of spatially varying data quality information, and seamless querying irrespective of the underlying storage model. RSVQ is founded on a formal model of relational databases, defining a new derived, polymorphic query operator Numéro de notice : A2009-543 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE/INFORMATIQUE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1111/j.1467-9671.2009.01142.x En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1467-9671.2009.01142.x Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=30172

[Termes IGN] web sémantiqueRésumé : (Auteur) [avant-propos] This book is the result of a collaborative initiative of the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI), the European Commission's Joint Research Centre, the European umbrella organisation for geographic information (EUROGI), the Dutch innovation program Space for Geo-Information (RGI) and Geonovum, the Netherlands SDI executive committee. In addition to the traditional call for papers for the joint GSDI-11/ INSPIRE/ Geonovum RGI conference 'Spatial Data Infrastructure Convergence: Building SDI Bridges to Address Global Challenges' contributions of full articles were solicited for publication in this peer reviewed volume. In several instances, the articles submitted addressed the theme of the conference. In others they stuck to the more traditional fields of SDI. The reviewing process resulted in twenty articles that together can be summarised as Spatial Data Infrastructure Convergence: Research, Emerging Trends, and Critical Assessment. These topics are represented well in this volume. Note de contenu : - Peer Review Board for SDI Convergence: Research, Emerging Trends, and Critical Assessment

[Termes IGN] surveillance de la végétationRésumé : (Auteur) The objectives of this research were: (1) to quantify indicators of riparian condition; and (2) to assess these indicators for detecting change in riparian condition. Two multi-spectral QuickBird images were acquired in 2004 and 2005 for a section of the Daly River in north Australia. These data were collected coincidently with vegetation and geomorphic field data. Indicators of riparian condition, including percentage canopy cover, organic litter, canopy continuity, bank stability, flood damage, riparian zone width and vegetation overhang, were then mapped. Field measurements and vegetation indices were empirically related using regression analysis to develop algorithms for mapping organic litter and canopy cover (R 2 = 0.59-0.78). Using a standard nearest-neighbour algorithm, object-oriented supervised image classification provided thematic information (overall accuracies 81-90%) for mapping riparian zone width and vegetation overhang. Bank stability and flood damage were mapped empirically from a combination of canopy cover information and the image classification products (R 2 = 0.70-0.81). Multi-temporal image analysis of riparian condition indicators (RCIs) demonstrated the advantages of using continuous and discrete data values as opposed to categorical data. This research demonstrates how remote sensing can be used for mapping and monitoring riparian zones in remote tropical savannas and other riparian environments at scales from 1 km to 100s km of stream length.
