[Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, a change detection approach based on an object-based classification of remote sensing data is introduced. The approach classifies not single pixels but groups of pixels that represent already existing objects in a GIS database. The approach is based on a supervised maximum likelihood classification. The multispectral bands grouped by objects and very different measures that can be derived from multispectral bands represent the n-dimensional feature space for the classification. The training areas are derived automatically from the geographical information system (GIS) database. After an introduction into the general approach, different input channels for the classification are defined and discussed. The results of a test on two test areas are presented. Afterwards, further measures, which can improve the result of the classification and enable the distinction between more land-use classes than with the introduced approach, are presented. [Termes IGN] terrainRésumé : (Auteur) This paper investigates the combination of metric aerial photography and near-infrared (NIR) videography data to improve the design of field-survey sampling frameworks. Spatial data collection can contribute up to 80% of the cost of deploying a Geographic Information System (GIS) based Decision Support System (DSS). The use of remotely sensed information, field survey using differential Global Positioning System (dGPS) and geostatistical interpolation methods maximises data quality for a given rate of sampling.
Medium-format colour aerial photography and NIR videography were orthorectified to the national map base and mosaiced using ERDAS Imagine. The green and red layers of the aerial photography were combined with the NIR videography to form a false-colour composite image. Two sampling strategies were tested. The first stratified sampling on a per field basis, creating four points per hectare, randomly located within each field. The second strategy used the remotely sensed information to identify within-field variability classes for each field, using red-green difference or normalised difference vegetation index (NDVI) models. These variability classes were used as a sub-stratification framework with each class sampled at the same rate of 4 per hectare. For both strategies the sample points were generated within ESRI ArcView and were located in the field using dGPS. Maps of stone content were created using geostatistical methods and validated against samples collected on a 100 metre grid. It was concluded that combining the two image sources to create a within-field stratification framework improved the precision of the results obtained from field-survey.Numéro de notice : A2003-376 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1080/10106040308542285 Date de publication en ligne : 02/01/2008 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1080/10106040308542285 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=26456

[Termes IGN] traitement automatique de donnéesRésumé : (Auteur) Updating digital map databases to reflect continuous changes is a major task, which could be significantly reduced by introducing an automated change-detection process. We suggest an algorithm inspired by the specific problem of updating the Danish National Topographic Map Database (TOP10DK). The emphasis is on buildings, which are very important mapping objects. The algorithm uses vector and spectral data as input to an unsupervised spectral classification method which controls a subsequent Mahalanobis classification step. For evaluation, we present four test cases based on the TOP10DK database in combination with RGB and color-infrared (CIR) aerial photos. A main problem is roofs covered with roofing felt, which are hard to discriminate spectrally from roads. Apart from that, RGB photos are barely sufficient for change detection, while CIR data give more satisfactory results. Refinements are, however, still needed to reduce the number of false alarms.
