Techniques for automatic acquisition of buildings are needed to satisfy this demand in an economic way. This paper describes an approach for building extraction using digital surface models (DSM) as input data. The first task is the detection of areas within the DSM which describe buildings. The second task is the reconstruction of geometric building descriptions. In this paper we focus on new extensions of our approach. The first extension is the detection of buildings using two alternative classification schemes: a binary or a statistical classification based on Bayesian nets, both using local geometric properties. The second extension is the extraction of roof structures as a first step towards the reconstruction of polyhedral building descriptions. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laserRésumé : (Auteur) A wide-angle airborne laser ranging system (WA-ALRS) is developed at the Institut Géographique National (IGN), France, with the aim of providing a new geodesy technique devoted to large (100km) networks with a high density (1 km-2) of benchmarks. The main objective is to achieve a 1-mm accuracy in relative vertical coordinates from aircraft measurements lasting a few hours. This paper reviews the methodology and analyzes the first experimental data achieved from a specific ground-based experiment. The accuracy in relative coordinate estimates is studied with the help of numerical simulations. It is shown that strong accuracy limitations arise with a small laser beam divergence combined with short range measurements when relatively few simultaneous range data are produced. The accuracy is of a few cm in transverse coordinates and a few mm in radial coordinates. The results from groundbased experimental data are fairly compatible with these predictions. The use of a model for systematic errors in the vehicle trajectory is shown to be necessary to achieve such a high accuracy. This work yields the first complete validation of modelization and methodology of this technique. An accuracy better than 1 mm and a few mm in vertical and horizontal coordinates, respectively, is predicted for aircraft experiments.
Note de contenu : PARTIE I - L'ANALYSE CLASSIQUE DES SÉRIES CHRONOLOGIQUES

A new practical model is adopted to describe the relation between the two orbits of an interferometric scene. A very effective 2D phase unwrapping method is proposed and a multiple baseline phase unwrapping method for the interferograms with large baselines is described. For the DEM generation, a differential method by use of two interferograms is proposed to determine the DEM in the areas with slow surface movement. A method to estimate the horizontal velocity fields from an interferogram is also proposed in this work. All the methods proposed in this work have been demonstrated by use of the ERS-1 SAR data. For DEM generation of the test of Bonn, Germany, seven interferograms from eight ERS-1 scenes are demonstrated by use of the proposed methods. An accuracy of 4.3 m is obtained for the whole test area of 12x26 km. The ERS-1 data sets of the scene Hemmen Ice Rise, Antarctica are used to demonstrate the estimation of the horizontal velocity fields of the ice sheet around the island Hemmen Ice Rise. An accuracy of about 40cm/3 days can be obtained when only one interferogram is available. With the available ascending and descending data sets in this Antarctic area, a much higher accuracy of 1 cm/3 days can be reached. [Termes IGN] valeur aberranteRésumé : (Auteur) The principal subject matter of this work is the development and analysis of the theory for adjustment with singular variance covariance matrix (vcm) of observations. Further objectives are the development of a method for the localization of outliers and of a theory for modelling of the point noise by the congruency test.
The problem in linear model with singular vcm is the determination of a weight matrix to compute the weighted square of the residuals. This weight matrix depends on the choice of the g-inverse. To ensure the uniqueness of the weighted square of the residuals, a model space matrix of the observations that takes into account all information contained in the observations is defined.
To accelerate the localization of outliers in a linear model a method is presented that is based on the analysis of the sensitivity of the observations on the computation of adjusted observations and of the residuals.
For the computation of the separability measures, the changes of the weighted square of the residuals under different alternative hypotheses are used. To develop less sensitive hypothesis tests, two methods are derived. The first one is based on a modification of the stochastic model and the second one on the computation of test values by means of Bayesian statistics without change of the vcm of the observations. The singularity of the vcm means that the observations contain stochastic and non-stochastic information. It is shown that the use of the g-inverse of the singular vcm as weight matrix is only allowed if the column space of the design matrix is included in the column space of the vcm. The estimation of the parameters in the linear model with singular vcm does not depend on the rank of the vcm but on the rank of the design matrix. For the models of the geometrical deformation analysis (e.g. strain and block movement model) by which adjusted coordinates are used as observations, the design matrix is always column regular. Thus the parameters in these models are best linear unbiased estimable.Numéro de notice : 56305 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : MATHEMATIQUE Nature : Thèse étrangère Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=60001 Réservation
