[Termes IGN] tempêteRésumé : (auteur) Spatiotemporal association pattern mining can discover interesting interdependent relationships among various types of geospatial data. However, existing mining methods for spatiotemporal association patterns usually model geographic phenomena as simple spatiotemporal point events. Therefore, they cannot be applied to complex geographic phenomena, which continuously change their properties, shapes or locations, such as storms and air pollution. The most salient feature of such complex geographic phenomena is the geographic dynamic. To fully reveal dynamic characteristics of complex geographic phenomena and discover their associated factors, this research proposes a novel complex event-based spatiotemporal association pattern mining framework. First, a complex geographic event was hierarchically modeled and represented by a new data structure named directed spatiotemporal routes. Then, sequence mining technique was applied to discover the spatiotemporal spread pattern of the complex geographic events. An adaptive spatiotemporal episode pattern mining algorithm was proposed to discover the candidate driving factors for the occurrence of complex geographic events. Finally, the proposed approach was evaluated by analyzing the air pollution in the region of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. The experimental results showed that the proposed approach can well address the geographic dynamic of complex geographic phenomena, such as the spatial spreading pattern and spatiotemporal interaction with candidate driving factors. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) In geographic information systems (GIS), analysts answer questions by designing workflows that transform a certain type of data into a certain type of goal. Semantic data types help constrain the application of computational methods to those that are meaningful for such a goal. This prevents pointless computations and helps analysts design effective workflows. Yet, to date it remains unclear which types would be needed in order to ease geo-analytical tasks. The data types and formats used in GIS still allow for huge amounts of syntactically possible but nonsensical method applications. Core concepts of spatial information and related geo-semantic distinctions have been proposed as abstractions to help analysts formulate analytic questions and to compute appropriate answers over geodata of different formats. In essence, core concepts reflect particular interpretations of data which imply that certain transformations are possible. However, core concepts usually remain implicit when operating on geodata, since a concept can be represented in a variety of forms. A central question therefore is: Which semantic types would be needed to capture this variety and its implications for geospatial analysis? In this article, we propose an ontology design pattern of core concept data types that help answer geo-analytical questions. Based on a scenario to compute a liveability atlas for Amsterdam, we show that diverse kinds of geo-analytical questions can be answered by this pattern in terms of valid, automatically constructible GIS workflows using standard sources. [Termes IGN] précision de la classificationRésumé : (auteur) The performance of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image change detection is mainly relied on the quality of the difference image and the accuracy of the classification method. Considering the above mentioned issues, this paper proposes an unsupervised framework for SAR image change detection in which each pixel is taken as a vertex and the collection of pixels is represented by hyperedges in a hypergraph. Thus, the task of SAR image change detection is formulated as the problem of hypergraph matching and hypergraph partition. First, instead of using the K nearest neighbour rule, we propose a coupling neighbourhood based on the spatial-intensity constraint to gather the neighbours for each vertex. Then, hyperedges are constructed on the pixels and their coupling neighbours. The weight of hyperedge is computed via the sum of the patch-based pairwise affinities within the hyperedge. Through modelling the two hypergraphs on the bi-temporal SAR images, not only the change level of vertices is described, but also the changes of local grouping and consistency within hyperedge are excavated. Thus, the difference image with a good separability can be obtained by matching each vertex and hyperedge between the two hypergraphs. Finally, a generalized hypergraph partition technique is employed to classify changed and unchanged areas in the generated difference image. Experimental results on real SAR datasets confirm the validity of the proposed framework in improving the robustness and accuracy of change detection. [Vedettes matières IGN] GénéralisationRésumé : (auteur) This research presents the formalization and verification of the methodology for the automatic generalization of buildings, road networks, forests and surface waters from the Topographic Objects Database (BDOT10k) in Poland. The article makes the following contributions. First, the generalization methodology contained in the official documents was acquired and presented in the form of the knowledge base. Second, the possibilities and limitations of the implementation of the knowledge base in ArcGIS were discussed. Third, the suitability of the BDOT10k structure for the purpose of automatic generalization performance was verified. As a result of the conducted generalization tests, it was found that the formalization and implementation of the methodology contained in the official specifications, in the automatic mode are not entirely possible. The generalization results, however, are promising. The presented research is in line with the studies recently conducted not only by Polish but also other European National Mapping Agencies. [Termes IGN] télédétectionRésumé : (auteur) Mapping urban structures is a vital prerequisite for urban planners to enhance their database for a liveable city dedicated to sustainable development. Therefore, it is significant to measure urban grey and green structures at the scale of local districts to understand the urban structure and residential needs for urban ecosystem services. For a detailed analysis we exploit digital orthophotos (DOP), LiDAR data, and vital statistics. We use remote sensing techniques to create an Object-based Image Analysis (OBIA) that differentiates grey and green structures with high precision and at refined scale. This spatial information is linked with allocated population and health-related indicators to identify built-up types with highest population densities and local districts with deficits in the provision of different green structures. Our results show the share of built-up structures and the contribution of green structures to urban ecosystem services, human health and well-being at local district level.
