[Termes IGN] urbanisationRésumé : (Auteur) Understanding urban dynamics is an increasingly important challenge that can be answered in several ways. For many years, an important body of research has been tackling this problem in the literature of regional science, urban and economic geography, geomatics and related fields. But, whatever the field of research, in order to better understand urban dynamics, one needs to study the actual changes geographic objects undergo over time. Studying such changes requires the constitution of spatiotemporal databases containing data for each step of the considered evolutions. Unfortunately, building such spatio-temporal databases from existing topographic databases is a difficult process that requires tracking topographic objects in consecutive databases and creating links between them. The evolution of topographic objects which evolution has been tracked can be studied and then simulated. The observed changes the geographic objects undergo help up understand each topographic object's dynamics, their particularities on specific geographical areas as well as their evolutions in different time periods. Simulations can then be used to better understand the specific evolutions taking place on a given territory. Eventually, such simulations might be able to help the planning and policy making processes. The methodology presented in this paper includes the construction of spatio-temporal databases, the capture of historical topographic data from existing topographic maps, and a rich hierarchy creation process. Finally, the bases of our vector-based simulation platform are given. [Termes IGN] utilisation du solRésumé : (Auteur) Much of Poland's rural landscape has unique cultural and aesthetic value and should recognised as a national asset. In economic terms, however, small, scattered parcels demand through land consolidation, an activity that also threatens the landscape. How may land consolidation be used not only in reallocation but also preserve the landscape ? The authors propose studies to serve both aims. But, first and foremost, all parties must be made aware of the (economic) benefits of landscape preservation. [Termes IGN] tétraèdreRésumé : (Auteur) This paper introduces a new compact topological 3D data structure. The proposed method models the real world as a complete decomposition of space and this subdivision is represented by a constrained tetrahedral network (TEN). Operators and definitions from the mathematical field of simplicial homology are used to define and handle this TEN structure. Only tetrahedrons need to be stored explicitly in a (single column) database table, while all simplexes of lower dimensions, constraints and topological relationships can be derived in views. As a result the data structure is relatively compact and easy to update, while it still offers favourable characteristics from a computational point of view as well as presence of topological relationships. [Termes IGN] modèle numérique de surfaceRésumé : (Auteur) A continuous and autonomous co-registration and geo-location of image data from multiple sensors with widely varying view angles and resolution is one of the unique challenges of IRS-P6 data processing. The Liss-4 camera is capable of imaging in either multi-spectral or panchromatic modes with steerability up to +/- 27°. As the satellite sweeps longer strips with oblique viewing configuration, data product generation requires an elevation database to accommodate the errors due to terrain topography. SRTM, GTOPO30, DCW etc. are becoming hidden information to product generation schemes. In this paper, we analyze and justify the requirement of inclusion of a global DEM in the product generation system for Liss-4 data. In the first part of the study, after a brief introduction of sensor model, comparison of elevation from SRTM and GTOPO30 is made which leads towards a conclusion that GTOPO30 is adequate for improving the accuracy. The second part deals with the impact of GTOPO30 on geometric accuracy. Thirdly we analyze the terrain effects on band-to-band registration of Liss-4 multispectral data. A perfect band-to-band registration cannot be achieved without inclusion of digital elevation model. Many Liss-4 data sets with different tilts that cover terrain patches with flat, rolling and highly undulating nature are studied and the results reported.
