[Termes IGN] YémenRésumé : (Auteur) On the initiative of Marylène Barret, archeologist and art restorer working at the French embassy in Sana'a Yemen, and detached at the SFD (Social Fund for Development) of Yemen, professors of the French ENSG (Ecole National des Sciences Géographiques), together with some of their student went twice to Yemen since October 2004 to survey five historic mosques on point of being restored. The goal of both field operations and post-processing of the collected data was to provide a specific training ant to enable a transfer of technology to a Yemini team who should soon be in charge of organizing by themselves similar operations as part of a specific unit at the SFD. Today, according to an agreement between the ENSG and the SFD, trainings should go to make that unit operational as soon as possible. The first section includes papers presented in the 2007 CIPA Symposium in Athens, Greece. All papers have been selected by a special jury and awarded Best Paper awards in various categories at the Symposium. The six (6) selected papers concern Best Practices and Applications. All the papers present different aspects, applications, technical problems and novel approaches to CH documentation. The second section is dedicated to papers presented in the 2009 CIPA Symposium in Kyoto, Japan. As in the case of Athens, all papers have been selected by a special jury. The seven (7) selected papers concern Best Practices and Applications. All selected papers present different aspects, applications, technical problems and novel approaches to CH documentation, mainly in Asia. The publication concludes with a brief description on the future trends in heritage documentation. Note de contenu : 1. Introduction to heritage documentation / P. Patias, M. Santana

En particulier, la recherche en reconstruction 3D de bâtiment est un sujet très développé depuis les années 90. Malgré tout, il paraît nécessaire de poursuivre les recherches dans cet axe étant donnée que les approches actuelles consacrées à la reconstruction 3D de bâtiment (bien qu'efficaces) rencontrent encore des difficultés en terme de généralisation, de cohérence et de précision. Par ailleurs, les récents développements des systèmes d'acquisitions de rues tel que les systèmes de cartographie mobile ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives d'amélioration de la modélisation des bâtiments dans le sens ou les données terrestres (très précises et résolues) peuvent être exploitées avec davantage de cohérence (en comparaison à l'aérien) pour enrichir les modèles de bâtiments au niveau des façades (la géométrie, la texture). Ainsi, des approches de modélisation aériennes et terrestres sont individuellement proposées. Au niveau aérien, nous décrivons une approche directe et dépourvu d'extraction et d'assemblage de primitives géométriques en vue de la reconstruction 3D de modèles polyédriques simples de bâtiments à partir d'un jeu d'images aériennes calibrées. Au niveau terrestre, plusieurs approches qui décrivent essentiellement un pipeline pour la modélisation 3D des façades urbaines sont proposées; à savoir, la segmentation et classification de nuage de rues urbaines, la modélisation géométrique des façades urbaines et le texturage des façades urbaines comportant des occultations causées par d'autres objets du mobilier urbain. Currently, integration of laser data and images provides the most complete information for various surveying and 3D modelling tasks. However, this integration requires that both data sets are accurately oriented to the same coordinate system. In 2008, the EuroSDR launched the project "Registration Quality - Towards Integration of Laser Scanning and Photogrammetry" in order to collect knowledge about current registration methods and their performance. The project attracted the involvement of numerous research institutes and companies. Therefore, this test gives a quite extensive set of examples and comparisons of the most important registration strategies today. The empirical results indicated that the relative orientation of airborne laser scanning data and aerial images is a feasible method in order to get data sets within the common coordinate frame. The experiment revealed that, currently, the level of automation was not the most significant factor affecting the quality of registration. More important factors included the type of tie features and the implementation of the methods. The processing time was shortest with most automatic methods, whereas the amount of manual work tended to increase the processing times. It should be noted that many of the methods were still at the developmental stage. It is expected that the performance and processing speed, in most cases, can be enhanced in the future. The test data represented an urban area and many of the methods relied upon certain objects, such as buildings. Therefore, the performance of applied methods in non-built environments should be investigated separately. ;
(Auteur)2 : This report is the final report of the EuroSDR project "Atlas of INSPIRE Implementation Methods". In two two-day workshops and one pre-workshop of the INSPIRE Conference in Krakow, June, 2010 we investigated strategies to implement INSPIRE in several members states. We focused specifically on the relations between the implemented strategy and how successful the INSPIRE implementation is perceived in a specific country. A questionnaire was carried out as well. This report describes the project, presents the conclusions and contains the main deliverables of the project which are: -Two workshop reports - Research agenda for the implementation of INSPIRE -A network of SDI-practitioners and scientists across Europe that are strongly involved in the development of INSPIRE SDI-strategies -Scientific paper publications Scientific paper publications: published IJSDIR article [1] and article in progress for CEUS (Journal for Computers, Environment and Urban Systems) -INSPIRE-Conference pre-conference workshop, abstract and presentation -Key documents collection regarding INSPIRE-implementation -Prototype INSPIRE atlas (see: http://www.spatialist.be)Note de contenu : Registration quality - towards integration of laser scanning and photogrammetry
