[Termes IGN] reconstruction 3D du bâtiRésumé : (auteur) Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems, such as TanDEM-X, TerraSAR-X and Cosmo-SkyMed, acquire imagery with high spatial resolution (HR), making it possible to observe objects in urban areas with high detail. In this paper, we propose a new top-down framework for three-dimensional (3D) building reconstruction from HR interferometric SAR (InSAR) data. Unlike most methods proposed before, we adopt a generative model and utilize the reconstruction process by maximizing a posteriori estimation (MAP) through Monte Carlo methods. The reason for this strategy refers to the fact that the noisiness of SAR images calls for a thorough prior model to better cope with the inherent amplitude and phase fluctuations.
In the reconstruction process, according to the radar configuration and the building geometry, a 3D building hypothesis is mapped to the SAR image plane and decomposed to feature regions such as layover, corner line, and shadow. Then, the statistical properties of intensity, interferometric phase and coherence of each region are explored respectively, and are included as region terms. Roofs are not directly considered as they are mixed with wall into layover area in most cases. When estimating the similarity between the building hypothesis and the real data, the prior, the region term, together with the edge term related to the contours of layover and corner line, are taken into consideration. In the optimization step, in order to achieve convergent reconstruction outputs and get rid of local extrema, special transition kernels are designed. The proposed framework is evaluated on the TanDEM-X dataset and performs well for buildings reconstruction.Numéro de notice : A2015-851 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article nature-HAL : ArtAvecCL-RevueIntern DOI : 10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2015.06.004 En ligne : http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.isprsjprs.2015.06.004 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=79221

[Termes IGN] topologieRésumé : (Auteur) The snake algorithm has been proposed to solve many remote sensing and computer vision problems such as object segmentation, surface reconstruction, and object tracking. This paper introduces a framework for 3-D building model construction from LIDAR data based on the snake algorithm. It consists of nonterrain object identification, building and tree separation, building topology extraction, and adjustment by the snake algorithm. The challenging task in applying the snake algorithm to building topology adjustment is to find the global minima of energy functions derived for 2-D building topology. The traditional snake algorithm uses dynamic programming for computing the global minima of energy functions which is limited to snake problems with 1-D topology (i.e., a contour) and cannot handle problems with 2-D topology. In this paper, we have extended the dynamic programming method to address the snake problems with a 2-D planar topology using a novel graph reduction technique. Given a planar snake, a set of reduction operations is defined and used to simplify the graph of the planar snake into a set of isolated vertices while retaining the minimal energy of the graph. Another challenging task for 3-D building model reconstruction is how to enforce different kinds of geometric constraints during building topology refinement. This framework proposed two energy functions, deviation and direction energy functions, to enforce multiple geometric constraints on 2-D topology refinement naturally and efficiently. To examine the effectiveness of the framework, the framework has been applied on different data sets to construct 3-D building models from airborne LIDAR data. The results demonstrate that the proposed snake algorithm successfully found the global optima in polynomial time for all of the building topologies and generated satisfactory 3-D models for most of the buildings in the study areas. Note de contenu : Introduction

[Termes IGN] réseau routierRésumé : (auteur) 3D technologies are becoming increasingly popular as their applications in industrial, consumer, entertainment, healthcare, education, and governmental increase in number. According to market predictions, the total 3D modeling and mapping market is expected to grow from $1.1 billion in 2013 to $7.7 billion by 2018. Thus, 3D modeling techniques for different data sources are urgently needed.
This thesis addresses techniques for automated point cloud classification and the reconstruction of 3D scenes (including terrain models, 3D buildings and 3D road networks). First, georeferenced binary image processing techniques were developed for various point cloud classifications. Second, robust methods for the pipeline from the original point cloud to 3D model construction were proposed. Third, the reconstruction for the levels of detail (LoDs) of 1-3 (CityGML website) of 3D models was demonstrated. Fourth, different data sources for 3D model reconstruction were studied. The strengths and weaknesses of using the different data sources were addressed. Mobile laser scanning (MLS), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images, airborne laser scanning (ALS), and the Finnish National Land Survey’s open geospatial data sources e.g. a topographic database, were employed as test data. Among these data sources, MLS data from three different systems were explored, and three different densities of ALS point clouds (0.8, 8 and 50 points/m2) were studied.
The results were compared with reference data such as an orthophoto with a ground sample distance of 20cm or measured reference points from existing software to evaluate their quality. The results showed that 74.6% of building roofs were reconstructed with the automated process. The resulting building models provided an average height deviation of 15 cm. A total of 6% of model points had a greater than one-pixel deviation from laser points. A total of 2.5% had a deviation of greater than two pixels. The pixel size was determined by the average distance of input laser points. The 3D roads were reconstructed with an average width deviation of 22 cm and an average height deviation of 14 cm. The results demonstrated that 93.4% of building roofs were correctly classified from sparse ALS and that 93.3% of power line points are detected from the six sets of dense ALS data located in forested areas.
This study demonstrates the operability of 3D model construction for LoDs of 1-3 via the proposed methodologies and datasets. The study is beneficial to future applications, such as 3D-model-based navigation applications, the updating of 2D topographic databases into 3D maps and rapid, large-area 3D scene reconstruction.Numéro de notice : 21975 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : GEOMATIQUE Nature : Thèse étrangère Note de thèse : Doctoral thesis : Geoinformatics : Aalto university : 2015 En ligne : https://aaltodoc.aalto.fi/bitstream/handle/123456789/16214/isbn9789514802478.pdf [...] Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=93653 Automatic 3D modelling of metal frame connections from LiDAR data for structural engineering purposes / M.
