[Termes IGN] traitement de données localiséesRésumé : (auteur) The spatio-temporal analysis of cases is a good way an epidemic, and the recent COVID-19 pandemic unfortunately generated a huge amount of data. But analysing this raw data, with for instance the address of the people who contracted COVID-19, raises some privacy issues, and geomasking is necessary to preserve both people privacy and the spatial accuracy required for analysis. This paper proposes dierent geomasking techniques adapted to this COVID-19 data. Methods: Different techniques are adapted from the literature, and tested on a synthetic dataset mimicking the COVID-19 spatio-temporal spreading in Paris and a more rural nearby region. Theses techniques are assessed in terms of k-anonymity and cluster preservation. Results: Three adapted geomasking techniques are proposed: aggregation, bimodal gaussian perturbation, and simulated crowding. All three can be useful in different use cases, but the bimodal gaussian perturbation is the overall best techniques, and the simulated crowding is the most promising one, provided some improvements are introduced to avoid points with a low k-anonymity. Conclusions: It is possible to use geomasking techniques on addresses of people who caught COVID-19, while preserving the important spatial patterns. [Termes IGN] système d'information géographiqueRésumé : (auteur) The Grain for Green Project (GGP) is an essential ecological system protection and restoration measure which can effectively improve the ecological environment. Constructing ecological monitoring system and obtaining ecological parameters can scientifically evaluate the ecological benefits of the GGP, consolidate the existing achievements, take the road of high-quality development, and promote the construction of a national ecological civilization. Firstly, an index system was constructed based on the factors driving forest ecosystem functions, involving climate (thermal and moisture conditions), vegetation types, and typical ecological zones. Then, GIS spatial analysis technology and the merging criteria index method were used to identify GGP ecological function monitoring zones. Finally, according to the scale of the project, the spatial distribution of existing stations, typical ecological zones, and the density of monitoring stations, the eco-efficiency monitoring stations, were arranged in an overall way, which constitutes the GGP ecological monitoring network. The results showed that the ecological function monitoring zones of GGP included 77 divisions, and 99 ecological monitoring stations (20 compatible level-1 stations, 31 compatible level-2 stations, 18 professional level-1 stations, and 30 professional level-2 stations) were arranged. Among them, 83 are located in national major ecosystem protection and restoration engineering areas (NMEPREA), 79 in national ecological fragile areas (NEFA), 41 in national ecological barrier areas (NEBA), and 58 in national key ecological function areas (NKEFA). The proportion of types of NMEPREA, NEFA, NEBA, and NKEFA covered by monitoring is 66.7%, 100%, 100%, and 76%, respectively. The ecological monitoring system of GGP can not only meet the monitoring needs of the GGP but also effectively monitor the effectiveness of protection and restoration of typical ecological zones. In addition, this study can provide a methodological basis for other countries or ecological projects to build a more scientific and reasonable ecological monitoring system. In the last years, coupled with the spread of semi-automated survey and processing approaches based on photogrammetry, orthophotos have become almost a standard for monitoring the underwater environment. If on land the definition of the reference coordinate system and projection plane for the orthophoto generation is trivial, underwater it may represent a challenge. In this paper, we address the issue of defining the vertical direction and resulting horizontal plane (levelling) for the differential ortho rectification. We propose a non-invasive, contactless method based on roll and pitch angular data provided by in-camera IMU sensors and embedded in the Exif metadata of JPEG and raw image files. We show how our approach can be seamlessly integrated into automatic SfM/MVS pipelines, provide the mathematical background, and showcase real-world applications results in an underwater monitoring project. The results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and, for the first time, provide a metric evaluation of the definition of the vertical direction with low-cost sensors enclosed in digital cameras directly underwater. [Termes IGN] précision de la classificationRésumé : (auteur) Pan Sharpening is normally applied to sharpen a multispectral image with low resolution by using a panchromatic image with a higher resolution, to generate a high resolution multispectral image. The present study aims at assessing the power of Pan Sharpening on improvement of the accuracy of image classification and land cover mapping in Landsat 8 OLI imagery. In this respect, different Pan Sharpening algorithms including Brovey, Gram-Schmidt, NNDiffuse, and Principal Components were applied to merge the Landsat OLI panchromatic band (15 m) with the Landsat OLI multispectral: visible and infrared bands (30 m), to generate a new multispectral image with a higher spatial resolution (15 m). Subsequently, the support vector machine approach was utilized to classify the original Landsat and resulting Pan Sharpened images to generate land cover maps of the study area. The outcomes were then compared through the generation of confusion matrix and calculation of kappa coefficient and overall accuracy. The results indicated superiority of NNDiffuse algorithm in Pan Sharpening and improvement of classification accuracy in Landsat OLI imagery, with an overall accuracy and kappa coefficient of about 98.66% and 0.98, respectively. Furthermore, the result showed that the Gram-Schmidt and Principal Components algorithms also slightly improved the accuracy of image classification compared to original Landsat image. The study concluded that image Pan Sharpening is useful to improve the accuracy of image classification in Landsat OLI imagery, depending on the Pan Sharpening algorithm used for this purpose. [Termes IGN] réduction d'échelleRésumé : (auteur) Population downscaling and interpolation methods are required to produce data which correspond to spatial units used in urban planning, demography, and environmental modeling. Population data are typically aggregated at census enumeration units, which can have arbitrary, temporally-evolving boundaries. Previous approaches to imperviousness-based dasymetric mapping ignore cell-level patterning of imperviousness within a spatial unit of prediction, which potentially serve as a strong indicator of population. Landscape metrics derived from imperviousness data offer a promising approach to capture these patterns. In this study, we incorporate landscape metrics derived from impervious cover percentage maps into intelligent dasymetric mapping to downscale population from census tracts to block groups in four states with varying population densities: Connecticut, South Carolina, West Virginia, and New Mexico. We compare the performance of the landscape metrics-based models against two baseline models in all four states across three different time periods. The results show that intelligent dasymetric mapping using landscape metrics generally outperforms the two baseline models. We further compare the performance of landscape metrics as an ancillary source of information for dasymetric mapping against other traditionally-used datasets (e.g., land use, roads, nighttime lights data) in three states (Connecticut, South Carolina, and New Mexico) in 2000. We find that class area, landscape shape index, and number of patches consistently achieve lower error rates than other ancillary datasets in all the three states.
