[Termes IGN] représentation parcimonieuseRésumé : (Auteur) Hyperspectral image (HSI) denoising is a crucial preprocessing task that is used to improve the quality of images for object detection, classification, and other subsequent applications. It has been reported that noise can be effectively removed using the sparsity in the nonnoise part of the image. With the appreciable redundancy and correlation in HSIs, the denoising performance can be greatly improved if this redundancy and correlation is utilized efficiently in the denoising process. Inspired by this observation, a noise reduction method based on joint spectral-spatial distributed sparse representation is proposed for HSIs, which exploits the intraband structure and the interband correlation in the process of joint sparse representation and joint dictionary learning. In joint spectral-spatial sparse coding, the interband correlation is exploited to capture the similar structure and maintain the spectral continuity. The intraband structure is utilized to adaptively code the spatial structure differences of the different bands. Furthermore, using a joint dictionary learning algorithm, we obtain a dictionary that simultaneously describes the content of the different bands. Experiments on both synthetic and real hyperspectral data show that the proposed method can obtain better results than the other classic methods. [Termes IGN] projection orthogonaleRésumé : (Auteur) The simplex growing algorithm (SGA) has been widely used for finding endmembers. It can be considered as a sequential version of the well-known endmember finding algorithm, N-finder algorithm (N-FINDR), which finds endmembers one at a time by growing simplexes. However, one of the major hurdles for N-FINDR and SGA is the calculation of simplex volume (SV) which poses a great challenge in designing any algorithm using SV as a criterion for finding endmembers. This paper develops an orthogonal projection (OP)-based SGA (OP-SGA) which essentially resolves this computational issue. It converts the issue of calculating SV to calculating the OP on previously found simplexes without computing matrix determinants. Most importantly, a recursive Kalman filter-like OP-SGA, to be called recursive OP-SGA (ROP-SGA), can be also derived to ease computation. By virtue of ROP-SGA, several advantages and benefits in computational savings and hardware implementation can be gained for which N-FINDR and SGA do not have. [Termes IGN] modèle hydrographiqueRésumé : (auteur) Recently, ensemble Kalman filters (EnKF) have found increasing application for merging hydrological models with total water storage anomaly (TWSA) fields from the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite mission. Previous studies have disregarded the effect of spatially correlated errors of GRACE TWSA products in their investigations. Here, for the first time, we systematically assess the impact of the GRACE error correlation structure on EnKF data assimilation into a hydrological model, i.e. on estimated compartmental and total water storages and model parameter values. Our investigations include (1) assimilating gridded GRACE-derived TWSA into the WaterGAP Global Hydrology Model and, simultaneously, calibrating its parameters; (2) introducing GRACE observations on different spatial scales; (3) modelling observation errors as either spatially white or correlated in the assimilation procedure, and (4) replacing the standard EnKF algorithm by the square root analysis scheme or, alternatively, the singular evolutive interpolated Kalman filter. Results of a synthetic experiment designed for the Mississippi River Basin indicate that the hydrological parameters are sensitive to TWSA assimilation if spatial resolution of the observation data is sufficiently high. We find a significant influence of spatial error correlation on the adjusted water states and model parameters for all implemented filter variants, in particular for subbasins with a large discrepancy between observed and initially simulated TWSA and for north–south elongated sub-basins. Considering these correlated errors, however, does not generally improve results: while some metrics indicate that it is helpful to consider the full GRACE error covariance matrix, it appears to have an adverse effect on others. We conclude that considering the characteristics of GRACE error correlation is at least as important as the selection of the spatial discretisation of TWSA observations, while the choice of the filter method might rather be based on the computational simplicity and efficiency. [Termes IGN] orientationRésumé : (Auteur) Attitude models play a prominent role in the geometric processing of high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI). Because of the high accuracy of the matching algorithm, attitude oscillations can occur in HRSI. Various methods for correcting this attitude oscillation with parallax observations have been proposed. However, few researchers have attempted to model the oscillation from the attitude records or have taken noise into consideration. In this paper, a penalized spline-based attitude model is proposed, which can model the oscillation with piecewise and continuously differentiable polynomials and smooth out the attitude noise with a penalty function. The balance between the fitting accuracy and noise smoothing is controlled by a penalty parameter, which is estimated by generalized cross-validation. Given that the attitude error introduces distortions into sensor-corrected images, the band-to-band registration of multispectral images is used to validate the attitude model. Five multispectral data sets captured by ZiYuan-3 are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Compared with third-degree polynomials and cubic spline interpolation, the penalized spline model delivers the best performance by limiting the misregistration caused by the attitude model to within 0.1 pixels.
