[Termes IGN] restauration d'imageRésumé : (auteur) This paper addresses interferometric phase image estimation, i.e., the estimation of phase modulo-2π images from sinusoidal 2π-periodic and noisy observations. These degradation mechanisms make interferometric phase image estimation a quite challenging problem. We tackle this challenge by reformulating the true estimation problem as a sparse regression, often termed sparse coding, in the complex domain. Following the standard procedure in patch-based image restoration, the image is partitioned into small overlapping square patches, and the vector corresponding to each patch is modeled as a sparse linear combination of vectors, termed the atoms, taken from a set called dictionary. Aiming at optimal sparse representations, and thus at optimal noise removing capabilities, the dictionary is learned from the data that it represents via matrix factorization with sparsity constraints on the code (i.e., the regression coefficients) enforced by the ℓ1 norm. The effectiveness of the new sparse-coding-based approach to interferometric phase estimation, termed the SpInPHASE, is illustrated in a series of experiments with simulated and real data where it outperforms the state-of-the-art. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) The character of the topocentric components in ETRF2000(R08) from the Polish ASG-EUPOS system was analysed using skewness and kurtosis derived from the data probability density function. The data from 115 permanent GPS stations with a time span of more than 5 years were used. The main goal of this research was to show that any unmodelled systematics can disrupt the results. The obtained median values of skewness and kurtosis clearly indicate the discrepancies between the assumed normality of the GPS time series distribution and the reality, mainly due to stochastic and/or deterministic parts that are still present in the data. The quadratic relationship between skewness and kurtosis was developed with the empirically determined constants. The noise analysis with the Maximum Likelihood Estimation was also performed with the assumptions of white and white plus power-law noise. The estimated spectral indices for power law noises are close to −1 (flicker noise). The uncertainties of the intraplate velocities with white and white plus power law noise assumptions were calculated. It was shown that these uncertainties can be underestimated up to 5 mm/year. Additionally we made 1000 simulation which were aimed at showing how the values of skewness and kurtosis are changed when some mismodelled part of the data remains in the time series. We assumed different values of trend (1 and 6 mm/year), seasonal amplitudes (1 and 6 mm) and offsets (3 and 10 mm) with flicker noise of 1 mm amplitude to see how the metrics we use are biased. [Termes IGN] vitesseRésumé : (auteur) The current International Terrestrial Reference Frame is based on a piecewise linear site motion model and realized by reference epoch coordinates and velocities for a global set of stations. Although linear motions due to tectonic plates and glacial isostatic adjustment dominate geodetic signals, at today's millimeter precisions, nonlinear motions due to earthquakes, volcanic activities, ice mass losses, sea level rise, hydrological changes, and other processes become significant. Monitoring these (sometimes rapid) changes desires consistent and precise realization of the terrestrial reference frame (TRF) quasi-instantaneously. Here, we use a Kalman filter and smoother approach to combine time series from four space geodetic techniques to realize an experimental TRF through weekly time series of geocentric coordinates. In addition to secular, periodic, and stochastic components for station coordinates, the Kalman filter state variables also include daily Earth orientation parameters and transformation parameters from input data frames to the combined TRF. Local tie measurements among colocated stations are used at their known or nominal epochs of observation, with comotion constraints applied to almost all colocated stations. The filter/smoother approach unifies different geodetic time series in a single geocentric frame. Fragmented and multitechnique tracking records at colocation sites are bridged together to form longer and coherent motion time series. While the time series approach to TRF reflects the reality of a changing Earth more closely than the linear approximation model, the filter/smoother is computationally powerful and flexible to facilitate incorporation of other data types and more advanced characterization of stochastic behavior of geodetic time series. [Termes IGN] polarimétrie radarRésumé : (Auteur) Speckle noise is an inherent problem in coherent imaging systems such as synthetic aperture radar. It creates strong intensity fluctuations and hampers the analysis of images and the estimation of local radiometric, polarimetric, or interferometric properties. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) processing chains thus often include a multilooking (i.e., averaging) filter for speckle reduction, at the expense of a strong resolution loss. Preservation of point-like and fine structures and textures requires to adapt locally the estimation. Nonlocal (NL)-means successfully adapt smoothing by deriving data-driven weights from the similarity between small image patches. The generalization of nonlocal approaches offers a flexible framework for resolution-preserving speckle reduction. We describe a general method, i.e., NL-SAR, that builds extended nonlocal neighborhoods for denoising amplitude, polarimetric, and/or interferometric SAR images. These neighborhoods are defined on the basis of pixel similarity as evaluated by multichannel comparison of patches. Several nonlocal estimations are performed, and the best one is locally selected to form a single restored image with good preservation of radar structures and discontinuities. The proposed method is fully automatic and handles single and multilook images, with or without interferometric or polarimetric channels. Efficient speckle reduction with very good resolution preservation is demonstrated both on numerical experiments using simulated data, airborne, and spaceborne radar images. The source code of a parallel implementation of NL-SAR is released with this paper. The shortage of compatible GNSS/INS data processing software has become a bottleneck in the development of position and orientation systems (POS) for survey and mapping applications. Thus this paper introduces a GNSS/INS data processing software called Cinertial, which has been recently developed in China, with open definitions of data format and parameters. The algorithm design of the software is described in detail, including the realisation of INS mechanisation, Kalman filtering, and backward smoothing. The developed software is tested and evaluated by comparing it with mainstream commercial software through processing the same field test datasets. A precise and feasible comparison procedure is proposed in the paper, so as to evaluate the quality of any new POS software in an efficient, convenient, and cost-effective way. The procedure was applied to compare our new software with two well known commercial software packages through processing airborne and terrestrial datasets respectively. The results show that the new software can achieve the same level of accuracy as the current commercial software on the market, which reflects a new progress of the POS development in China.
