[Termes IGN] méthode des moindres carrésRésumé : (auteur) When iteratively solving the distance equations, the Newton’s method has quadratic convergence but it requires the second-order derivatives. The Gauss–Newton’s method needs no information about the second-order derivatives but it may fail without the line search strategy. A simple method called barycentre method is proposed to locally solving the distance equations without the Hessian matrix, the matrix inversion and the line search strategy. The geometrical meaning of the non-linear least-squares solution of the distance equations is revealed that it is the barycentre of a particle system composed of the observational weights at the endpoints of observed distance vectors. By the geometrical meaning of the non-linear least squares, the authors structure an iterative equation to solve the distance equation, and then the convergence and the computational complexity of the method proposed is discussed. It shows that the barycentre method is a conservatively steepest decent method to guarantee the convergence and this method has good performances for solving well-conditioned problems. Ultimately, the method proposed is applied to well-condition and ill-posed positioning equations and the main results are verified. [Termes IGN] photogrammétrie terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) This paper presents an effective approach for self-calibration with lens distortion using a single image combined with geometric constraints including vanishing points and ellipses. To improve the accuracy of self-calibration, radial distortion and distortion center are included in the calibration procedure. First, assuming image center as the symmetric center, the first radial distortion coefficient and vanishing points are simultaneously optimized from line segments in the image. Second, by utilizing the optimized vanishing points and extracted ellipse, principal distance and principal point are estimated. Last, distortion center is set as the current calculated principal point, and the above steps are then repeated until the principal point reaches a stable solution. Extensive quantitative and qualitative studies of the approach are performed. The experiments pertaining to simulated and real images demonstrate that the approach is effective and suitable and that the approach obtains satisfactory results. [Termes IGN] photogrammétrie terrestreRésumé : (auteur) Metric calibration is a critical prerequisite to the application of modern, mostly consumer-grade digital cameras for close-range photogrammetric measurement. This paper reviews aspects of sensor modelling and photogrammetric calibration, with attention being focussed on techniques of automated self-calibration. Following an initial overview of the history and the state of the art, selected topics of current interest within calibration for close-range photogrammetry are addressed. These include sensor modelling, with standard, extended and generic calibration models being summarised, along with non-traditional camera systems. Self-calibration via both targeted planar arrays and targetless scenes amenable to SfM-based exterior orientation are then discussed, after which aspects of calibration and measurement accuracy are covered. Whereas camera self-calibration is largely a mature technology, there is always scope for additional research to enhance the models and processes employed with the many camera systems nowadays utilised in close-range photogrammetry. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GPSRésumé : (auteur) On 17 April 2011, all analysis centers (ACs) of the International GNSS Service (IGS) adopted the reference frame realization IGS08 and the corresponding absolute antenna phase center model igs08.atx for their routine analyses. The latter consists of an updated set of receiver and satellite antenna phase center offsets and variations (PCOs and PCVs). An update of the model was necessary due to the difference of about 1 ppb in the terrestrial scale between two consecutive realizations of the International Terrestrial Reference Frame (ITRF2008 vs. ITRF2005), as that parameter is highly correlated with the GNSS satellite antenna PCO components in the radial direction. For the receiver antennas, more individual calibrations could be considered and GLONASS-specific correction values were added. For the satellite antennas, all correction values except for the GPS PCVs were newly estimated considering more data than for the former model. Satellite-specific PCOs for all GPS satellites active since 1994 could be derived from reprocessed solutions of five ACs generated within the scope of the first IGS reprocessing campaign. Two ACs separately derived a full set of corrections for all GLONASS satellites active since 2003. Ignoring scale-related biases, the accuracy of the satellite antenna PCOs is on the level of a few cm. With the new phase center model, orbit discontinuities at day boundaries can be reduced, and the consistency between GPS and GLONASS results is improved. To support the analysis of low Earth orbiter (LEO) data, igs08.atx was extended with LEO-derived PCV estimates for big nadir angles in June 2013.
