[Termes IGN] subsidenceRésumé : (auteur) Deformation measurements from satellite-borne synthetic aperture radar interferometry (InSAR) are usually measured relative to an arbitrary reference point (RP) of assumed stability over time. For InSAR rates to be reliably interpreted as uplift or subsidence, they must be connected to a defined Earth-centred terrestrial reference frame (TRF), usually made through GNSS continuously operating reference stations (CORS). We adapt and compare three methods of TRF connection proposed by different studies which we term the single CORS RP (SCRP), plane-fit multiple CORS (PFMC), and the multiple CORS RP (MCRP). We generalise equations for these methods, and importantly, develop equations to propagate InSAR and GNSS uncertainties through the transformation process. This is significant, because it is important to not only estimate the InSAR uncertainties, but also to account for the uncertainties that are introduced when connecting to the CORS so as to better inform our interpretation of the deformation field and the limitation of the measurements. We then test these methods using Sentinel-1 data in the Latrobe Valley, Australia. These results indicate that differences among the three TRF connection methods may be greater than their estimated uncertainties. MCRP appears the most reliable method, although it may be limited in large study areas with sparse CORS due to long wavelength InSAR errors and that gaps and/or steps may appear at the spatial limit from the CORS. SCRP relies on the quality of the single CORS connection, but can be validated by unconnected CORS in the study area. The PFMC method is suited to larger areas undergoing slow, constant deformation covering large spatial extents where there are evenly distributed CORS across the study area. Selecting an optimal method of TRF connection is dependent on local site conditions, CORS network geometry and the characteristics of the deformation field. Hence, the choice of TRF connection method should be carefully considered, because different methods may result in significantly different transformed deformation rates. We confirm slow subsidence across the Latrobe Valley relative to the vertical component of the ITRF2014, with localised high subsidence rates near open cut mining activities. Subsidence of ~ -6 mm/year is observed in the adjacent coastal region which may exacerbate relative sea level rise along the coastline, increasing future risks of coastal inundation. [Termes IGN] réflectanceRésumé : (auteur) Sentinel-3 is a newly launched satellite implemented by the European Space Agency (ESA) for global observation. The Ocean and Land Colour Imager (OLCI) sensor onboard Sentinel-3 provides 21 band images with a fine spectral resolution and is of great value for ocean, land and atmospheric monitoring. The two platforms (Sentinel-3A and -3B) can provide OLCI images at an almost daily temporal resolution. The coarse spatial resolution of the 21 band OLCI images (i.e., 300 m), however, limits greatly their utility for local, precise monitoring. Sentinel-2, another satellite provided by ESA, carries the Multispectral Imager (MSI) sensor which can supply much finer spatial resolution (e.g., 10 m and 20 m) images. This paper introduces a new fusion framework integrating spatio-temporal-spectral information for downscaling Sentinel-3 OLCI images, which has two parts. Based on bands with similar wavelengths (i.e., bands 2, 3, 4 and 8a for Sentinel-2 and bands Oa4, Oa6, Oa8 and Oa17 for Sentinel-3), the four Sentinel-3 bands are first downscaled to the spatial resolution of Sentinel-2 images by applying spatio-temporal fusion to Sentinel-2 MSI and Sentinel-3 OLCI images. Then, to take full advantage of all 21 available OLCI bands of the Sentinel-3 images, the extended image pair-based spatio-spectral fusion (EIPSSF) method is proposed in this paper to downscale the other 17 bands. EIPSSF is performed based on the new concept of the extended image pair (EIP) and by exploiting existing spatio-temporal fusion approaches. The framework consisting of spatio-temporal and spatio-spectral fusion is entirely general, which provides a practical solution for comprehensive downscaling of Sentinel-3 OLCI images for fine spatial, temporal and spectral resolution monitoring. [Termes IGN] récepteur GPSRésumé : (auteur) The Sentinel-6 (or Jason-CS) altimetry mission provides a long-term extension of the Topex and Jason-1/2/3 missions for ocean surface topography monitoring. Analysis of altimeter data relies on highly-accurate knowledge of the orbital position and requires radial RMS orbit errors of less than 1.5 cm. For precise orbit determination (POD), the Sentinel-6A spacecraft is equipped with a dual-constellation GNSS receiver. We present the results of Sentinel-6A POD solutions for the first 6 months since launch and demonstrate a 1-cm consistency of ambiguity-fixed GPS-only and Galileo-only solutions with the dual-constellation product. A similar performance (1.3 cm 3D RMS) is achieved in the comparison of kinematic and reduced-dynamic orbits. While Galileo measurements exhibit 30–50% smaller RMS errors than those of GPS, the POD benefits most from the availability of an increased number of satellites in the combined dual-frequency solution. Considering obvious uncertainties in the pre-mission calibration of the GNSS receiver antenna, an independent inflight calibration of the phase centers for GPS and Galileo signal frequencies is required. As such, Galileo observations cannot provide independent scale information and the estimated orbital height is ultimately driven by the employed forces models and knowledge of the center-of-mass location within the spacecraft. Using satellite laser ranging (SLR) from selected high-performance stations, a better than 1 cm RMS consistency of SLR normal points with the GNSS-based orbits is obtained, which further improves to 6 mm RMS when adjusting site-specific corrections to station positions and ranging biases. For the radial orbit component, a bias of less than 1 mm is found from the SLR analysis relative to the mean height of 13 high-performance SLR stations. Overall, the reduced-dynamic orbit determination based on GPS and Galileo tracking is considered to readily meet the altimetry-related Sentinel-6 mission needs for RMS height errors of less than 1.5 cm. [Termes IGN] zone urbaineRésumé : (auteur) The measurement accuracy of the Mobile Mapping System (MMS) is the main problem, which restricts its development and application, so how to calibrate the MMS to improve its measurement accuracy has always been a research hotspot in the industry. This paper proposes a position and attitude calibration method with error correction based on the combination of the feature point and feature surface. First, the initial value of the spatial position relationship between each sensor of MMS is obtained by close-range photogrammetry. Second, the optimal solution for error correction is calculated by feature points in global coordinates jointly measured with International GNSS Service (IGS) stations. Then, the final transformation parameters are solved by combining the initial values obtained originally, thereby realizing the rapid calibration of the MMS. Finally, it analyzed the RMSE of MMS point cloud after calibration, and the results demonstrate the feasibility of the calibration approach proposed by this method. Under the condition of a single measurement sensor accuracy is low, the plane and elevation absolute accuracy of the point cloud after calibration can reach 0.043 m and 0.072 m, respectively, and the relative accuracy is smaller than 0.02 m. It meets the precision requirements of data acquisition for MMS. It is of great significance for promoting the development of MMS technology and the application of some novel techniques in the future, such as autonomous driving, digital twin city, urban brain et al. [Termes IGN] tunnelRésumé : (auteur) This paper introduces an original method for modelling in 3D the full tube (both vault and canal) of navigable tunnels using data acquired dynamically from a boat. The recording system is composed of cameras that provide images of the vault and a multibeam echo sounder that acquires 3D profiles underwater. Reconstructing partially submerged structures, in a confined environment where no global positioning system signal is available, is challenging. The method exploits the capabilities of photogrammetry, not only to reconstruct the tunnel vault, but also to estimate the trajectory of the vessel, which is necessary to rearrange sonar profiles and form the 3D model of the canal. The comparison of a model reconstructed from in situ dynamic acquisitions with a reference one, obtained from static laser and sonar acquisitions, shows that the accuracy is of the order of a centimetre for the vault, while it is decimetric for underwater features.
