[Termes IGN] matrice creuseRésumé : (Auteur) In a plethora of applications dealing with inverse problems, e.g., image processing, social networks, compressive sensing, and biological data processing, the signal of interest is known to be structured in several ways at the same time. This premise has recently guided research into the innovative and meaningful idea of imposing multiple constraints on the unknown parameters involved in the problem under study. For instance, when dealing with problems whose unknown parameters form sparse and low-rank matrices, the adoption of suitably combined constraints imposing sparsity and low rankness is expected to yield substantially enhanced estimation results. In this paper, we address the spectral unmixing problem in hyperspectral images. Specifically, two novel unmixing algorithms are introduced in an attempt to exploit both spatial correlation and sparse representation of pixels lying in the homogeneous regions of hyperspectral images. To this end, a novel mixed penalty term is first defined consisting of the sum of the weighted ℓ1 and the weighted nuclear norm of the abundance matrix corresponding to a small area of the image determined by a sliding square window. This penalty term is then used to regularize a conventional quadratic cost function and impose simultaneous sparsity and low rankness on the abundance matrix. The resulting regularized cost function is minimized by: 1) an incremental proximal sparse and low-rank unmixing algorithm; and 2) an algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms is illustrated in experiments conducted both on simulated and real data. [Termes IGN] reconnaissance d'objetsRésumé : (auteur) Many vision tasks require a multi-class classifier to discriminate multiple categories, on the order of hundreds or thousands. In this paper, we propose sparse output coding, a principled way for large-scale multi-class classification, by turning high-cardinality multi-class categorization into a bit-by-bit decoding problem. Specifically, sparse output coding is composed of two steps: efficient coding matrix learning with scalability to thousands of classes, and probabilistic decoding. Empirical results on object recognition and scene classification demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach. [Termes IGN] matriceRésumé : (Auteur) Spatial-spectral feature fusion is well acknowledged as an effective method for hyperspectral (HS) image classification. Many previous studies have been devoted to this subject. However, these methods often regard the spatial-spectral high-dimensional data as 1-D vector and then extract informative features for classification. In this paper, we propose a new HS image classification method. Specifically, matrix-based spatial-spectral feature representation is designed for each pixel to capture the local spatial contextual and the spectral information of all the bands, which can well preserve the spatial-spectral correlation. Then, matrix-based discriminant analysis is adopted to learn the discriminative feature subspace for classification. To further improve the performance of discriminative subspace, a random sampling technique is used to produce a subspace ensemble for final HS image classification. Experiments are conducted on three HS remote sensing data sets acquired by different sensors, and experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

[Termes IGN] polarisationRésumé : (Auteur) This paper considers the problem of coherent (in the sense that both amplitudes and relative phases of the polarimetric returns are used to construct the decision statistic) multipolarization synthetic aperture radar change detection starting from the availability of image pairs exhibiting possible power mismatches/miscalibrations. The principle of invariance is used to characterize the class of scale-invariant decision rules which are insensitive to power mismatches and ensure the constant false alarm rate property. A maximal invariant statistic is derived together with the induced maximal invariant in the parameter space which significantly compresses the data/parameter domain. A generalized likelihood ratio test is synthesized both for the cases of two- and three-polarimetric channels. Interestingly, for the two-channel case, it is based on the comparison of the condition number of a data-dependent matrix with a suitable threshold. Some additional invariant decision rules are also proposed. The performance of the considered scale-invariant structures is compared to those from two noninvariant counterparts using both simulated and real radar data. The results highlight the robustness of the proposed method and the performance tradeoff involved.
