The bistatic topology comprises navigation satellites (such as Global Positioning System, GLObal Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS), Galileo, or Beidou) as transmitters of opportunity and a fixed receiver on the ground. Surface monitoring is to be provided through coherent change detection. An experimental test bed built to confirm the concept of the system is described, and the appropriate experimental program is presented. Preliminary signal processing algorithms for change detection are derived. Experimentally measured changes are compared to the theoretical predictions, and the obtained results are discussed. [Termes IGN] radar pénétrant GPRRésumé : (Auteur) Sparse representation (SR) models a signal with a small number of elementary waves using an overcomplete dictionary. It has been employed for a wide range of signal and image processing applications, including denoising, deblurring, and compression. In this paper, we present an adaptive SR method for modeling and classifying ground penetrating radar (GPR) signals. The proposed method decomposes each GPR trace into elementary waves using an adaptive Gabor dictionary. The sparse decomposition is used to extract salient features for SR and classification of GPR signals. Experimental results on real-world data show that the proposed sparse decomposition achieves efficient signal representation and yields discriminative features for pattern classification. [Termes IGN] test de performanceRésumé : (Auteur) The increasing role of pushbroom cameras in large photogrammetric projects has fostered international interest in achieving a sound knowledge of this device. In addition, the classic software tools, implemented for frame cameras, need to be adapted to cope with modified aerial triangulation and self-calibration procedures. This contribution presents the results obtained from the geometrical analysis and self-calibration of the second-generation pushbroom ADS40 camera, the SH52. For this purpose, a testfield was designed and built on the outskirts of Ávila, Spain and two blocks, flown at different heights, were imaged. A wide network of well-defined control and check points was observed in order to provide a thorough assessment of the accuracy and reliability of the camera. Empirical analysis of a variety of models within aerial triangulation as well as the use of internal camera parameters has led to an evaluation of the camera's performance in a real-life environment. [Termes IGN] tomographieRésumé : (Auteur) The growing interest in 3-D reconstruction of targets, particularly man-made objects, has made synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography a hot topic in recent years. It obtains a 3-D reflectivity map by coherently processing multiple images acquired from slightly different views. This paper investigates the use of polarimetric tomographic SAR to reconstruct 3-D images of man-made objects and proposes a polarimetric 3-D reconstruction technique, based on the multiple-measurement vector compressive sensing (CS) (MMV-CS) model and Tikhonov regularization theory. The main feature of the technique is that of allowing joint reconstruction of polarimetric 3-D reflectivity maps with high resolution. For X-band tomographic SAR, we demonstrate that the phase error induced by an array element error is severe enough to prevent data focusing and propose a phase calibration technique employing prominent scatterers to adapt the proposed technique to practice. To check the plausibility of our algorithms, a ground-based SAR system is introduced, and high-resolution 3-D images obtained by processing the real collected data are presented. As special cases of the new proposed technique, both the Tikhonov regularization and the MMV-CS method reconstruct the targets successfully and give an accurate estimate for the vehicle size. Compared to the Tikhonov regularization method, the MMV-CS technique exhibits much better superresolution power and lower sidelobe level. The advantage of the MMV-CS technique over the single-measurement vector CS technique is also demonstrated, and the phase calibration algorithm is verified.
