[Termes IGN] UltraCamRésumé : (Auteur) Test field calibration is an attractive approach to calibrating and characterizing the radiometry of airborne imaging instruments. In this study, a method for radiometric test field calibration for digital photogrammetric instruments is developed, and it is used to evaluate the radiometric performance of large-format photogrammetric sensors as the ADS40, the DMC, and the UltraCamD. In the study, linearity, dynamic range, sensitivity, and absOlute calibration were evaluated. The results demonstrated the high radiometric quality of the sensors tested. All the sensors were linear in response. The DMC used the 12-bit dynamic range entirely, while the ADS40 and the UltraCamD indicated close to the 13-bit dynamic range. The sensors performed quite differently with respect to sensitivity. With the DMC and the UltraCamD a risk of overexposure appeared, while the color channels of the ADS40 showed low sensitivity. Because the sensors were linear in response, they could be absolutely calibrated using linear models. [Termes IGN] UltraCamRésumé : (Auteur) Digital large format aerial cameras have been used for aerial survey and mapping operations for several years. One example is the UltraCamX, developed by Vexcel Imaging GmbH, Graz, Austria. UltraCam was introduced into the market in May 2006 and is currently the largest digital frame camera for photogrammetric applications. Since May 2006, Vexcel has been operating under the ownership of Microsoft Corp. and as such contributes to the Microsoft Virtual Earth Initiative. This huge project is based on high quality aerial images for fully automated, three dimensional, digital reconstruction of urban areas. Vexcel now introduces a new processing software called UltraMap Platform which implements a complete photogrammetric workflow including quality control and visualization. [Termes IGN] télémétrie laser terrestreRésumé : (Auteur) The 6th International Conference on Laser Scanning & Digital Aerial Photography, organised jointly by the Russian Society of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (RSPRS) and the giant Gazprom company, was held in Moscow between 6th and 8th december 2006. As the conference title suggested, it was focused on three main Themes -(i) airborne laser scanning; (ii) terrestrial (ground-based) laser scanning; and (iii) airborne digital photography, with particular reference to their applications within Russia. On the one hand, the detailed papers on these three technologies were given mainly by Western system suppliers or their Russian representatives. On the over hand, the papers on the applications of these technologies were presented mainly by Russian contributors, who have adopted these technologies enthusiastically with numerous interesting and varied applications.
