[Termes IGN] télémètre laser terrestreRésumé : (auteur) Applicability of SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) technology for mine surveys and subsequent 3D modelling of post-extracted surfaces is assessed. The resulting surface geometry is validated via terrestrial laser scanner (TLS) acquired reference data. Typical discrepancies remained within 2 and 5 cm in horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. Discrepancies between TLS, SLAM-enabled handheld scanner and conventional surveying results are small and fully satisfy the contemporary accuracy requirements, yet evidence that the conventional mine survey results are affected by the subjectivity of the surveyors. The SLAM-enabled laser scanning hence appears to be the most suitable method for underground mining surveys. [Termes IGN] données marégraphiquesRésumé : (auteur) Satellite altimetry missions and tide gauges allow the monitoring of sea level variations over time. While tide gauges monitor sea level relative to a local reference, satellite altimetry missions do so in relation to the Earth’s geocenter. From the comparison between time series generated by these two methods, we observed differences that may be related to possible vertical land movement (VLM). Our objective in this study is to determine the linear trends of VLMs from the difference between the sea level trend found by the satellite altimetry missions TOPEX/Poseidon, JASON 1, 2 and 3 ( v SA ) and the sea level trend found by the tide gauge of Imbituba in Santa Catarina (SC), Brazil ( v TG ). For this, we demarcated cells along the satellite tracks at a radius of up to 500 km over the ocean from the location of the tide gauge station. The mean values for v SA (1992-2017) and v TG (2002-2015) were 2.5 mm/a ±1.2 mm/a and 5.4 mm/a ±1.9 mm/a, while the mean values for v SA (2007-2015) and v TG (2007-2015) were 7.1 mm/a ±4.6 mm/a and 13.0 mm/a ±4.2 mm/a, respectively. The comparison of VLM obtained between the combination of v SA and v TG and GNSS showed results with better consistency over longer time series. [Termes IGN] tectonique des plaquesRésumé : (auteur) The NUVEL1-A is one of the old and popular plate tectonic models. While the NUVEL1-A is a geological-based model, recently a model has been proposed (GSRM2.1 model) which is based on the results of space geodetic techniques. In this work, we investigate the consistency of these models with the VLBI and SLR results in Europe. Direction and magnitude of the horizontal motion from NUVEL-1A and GSRM2.1 models are compared with corresponding values from both geodetic techniques. This comparison provides valuable deductions such as: (1) The values of geodetic-based model (GSRM2.1) show better agreement with SLR and VLBI results (2) In each comparison between geodetic results and modelled values, direction divergence is larger than magnitude difference. [Termes IGN] série temporelleRésumé : (auteur) The spatio-temporal random effects (STRE) model is a classic dynamic filtering model, which can be used to fuse GNSS and InSAR deformation data. The STRE model uses a certain time span of high spatial resolution Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) time series data to establish a spatial model and then obtain a deformation result with high spatio-temporal resolution through the state transition equation recursively in time domain. Combined with the Kalman filter, the STRE model is continuously updated and modified in time domain to obtain higher accuracy result. However, it relies heavily on the prior information and personal experience to establish an accurate spatial model. To the authors' knowledge, there are no publications which use the STRE model with multiple sets of different deformation monitoring data to verify its applicability and reliability. Here, we propose an improved STRE model to automatically establish accurate spatial model to improve the STRE model, then apply it to the fusion of GNSS and InSAR deformation data in the San Francisco Bay Area covering approximately 6000 km2 and in Southern California covering approximately 100,000 km2. Our experimental results show that the improved STRE model can achieve good fusion effects in both study areas. For internal inspection, the average error RMS values in the two regions are 0.13 mm and 0.06 mm for InSAR and 2.4 and 2.8 mm for GNSS, respectively; for Jackknife cross-validation, the average error RMS values are 6.0 and 1.3 mm for InSAR and 4.3 and 4.8 mm for GNSS in the two regions, respectively. We find that the deformation rate calculated from the fusion results is highly consistent with the existing studies, the significant difference in the deformation rate on both sides of the major faults in the two regions can be clearly seen, and the area with abnormal deformation rate corresponds well to the actual situation. These results indicate that the improved STRE model can reduce the reliance on prior information and personal experience, realize the effective fusion of GNSS and InSAR deformation data in different regions, and also has the advantages of high accuracy and strong applicability. [Termes IGN] texture d'imageRésumé : (auteur) The matching problem for heterologous remote sensing images can be simplified to the matching problem for pseudo homologous remote sensing images via image translation to improve the matching performance. Among such applications, the translation of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and optical images is the current focus of research. However, the existing methods for SAR-to-optical translation have two main drawbacks. First, single generators usually sacrifice either structure or texture features to balance the model performance and complexity, which often results in textural or structural distortion; second, due to large nonlinear radiation distortions (NRDs) in SAR images, there are still visual differences between the pseudo-optical images generated by current generative adversarial networks (GANs) and real optical images. Therefore, we propose a dual-generator translation network for fusing structure and texture features. On the one hand, the proposed network has dual generators, a texture generator, and a structure generator, with good cross-coupling to obtain high-accuracy structure and texture features; on the other hand, frequency-domain and spatial-domain loss functions are introduced to reduce the differences between pseudo-optical images and real optical images. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments show that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on publicly available optical and SAR datasets. Our method improves the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) by 21.0%, the chromatic feature similarity (FSIMc) by 6.9%, and the structural similarity (SSIM) by 161.7% in terms of the average metric values on all test images compared with the next best results. In addition, we present a before-and-after translation comparison experiment to show that our method improves the average keypoint repeatability by approximately 111.7% and the matching accuracy by approximately 5.25%.
