[Termes IGN] traitement de donnéesRésumé : (auteur) In data exploration, several online data sources may need to be dynamically aggregated or summarised over spatial region, time interval, or set of attributes. With respect to thematic data, web services are mainly used to present results leading to a supplier driven service model limiting the exploration of the data. In this paper we propose a user need driven service model based on geo web processing services. The aim of the framework is to provide a method for the scalable and interactive access to various geographic data sources on the web. The architecture combines a data query, processing technique and visualisation methodology to rapidly integrate and visually summarise properties of a dataset. We illustrate the environment on a health related use case that derives Age Standardised Rate – a dynamic index that needs integration of the existing interoperable web services of demographic data in conjunction with standalone non-spatial secure database servers used in health research. Although the example is specific to the health field, the architecture and the proposed approach are relevant and applicable to other fields that require integration and visualisation of geo datasets from various web services and thus, we believe is generic in its approach. [Termes IGN] style graphiqueRésumé : (auteur) Geovisual analytics can enable a user to explore multivariate spatio-temporal health datasets and to understand spatial distribution of diseases especially in relation to external factors that may influence outbreaks. External data are presently distributed using geo web services. Web services are used in health mainly to present results leading to a supplier-driven service model limiting the exploration of health data. In this paper, we illustrate server-side approach of designing a geovisual analytics environment that allows user-driven geovisual analytics. The server-side combines a data query, processing technique, and styling methodology to rapidly visually summarize properties of a dataset. We illustrate this functionality on a typical workflow used by a health researcher and demonstrate analytical functionality in cases where a consistent classification and styling scheme is needed across dynamically aggregated multivariate spatio-temporal datasets. Since the framework builds on the existing Open Geospatial Consortium web mapping standards, it integrates the existing geo web services as well as stand-alone health data repositories into an infrastructure that allows combination and interactive exploration of these heterogeneous datasets in a visual environment. [Termes IGN] surveillanceRésumé : (Auteur) Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease has become one of the critical health issues today. If an abnormal time–space pattern of such patients can be detected earlier, it will help the families to prevent some dangerous situations in advance. We have proposed a method in this study to uncover personal mobility patterns and detect abnormal behavior patterns from mobility data obtained with global position system (GPS). Experimental results showed that our proposed method is far better than other alternatives available. This proposed approach may thus render great assistance in identifying abnormal behavior, thus providing critical remedy actions in advance in this GPS era.
