[Termes IGN] signal GNSSRésumé : (auteur) Using the Doppler frequency obtained from tracking a GNSS pilot signal to aid in tracking another signal modulated with higher rate navigation messages in a different frequency band can improve tacking robustness and lower the message demodulation threshold. Based on an analysis of received signal frequency coherence, a linearized mathematical model of the cross-frequency Doppler-assisted carrier phase tracking loop is built, a thermal noise jitter calculation equation for the assisted tracking loop is derived, and its dynamic stress response characteristics are examined. The loop design requirements for eliminating the influence of inter-frequency frequency bias are clarified, as are the cross-frequency assist signal selection criteria. Monte Carlo simulations and preliminary field tests validate the theoretical results using the B1C pilot signal-aided tracking B2b signal of the MEO satellite in the BeiDou satellite navigation system (BDS). Experimental results show that the carrier phase tracking threshold of the B2b signal can be reduced by about 4 dB. The precise point positioning (PPP) technique, which can provide a global accurate positioning service using a single global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver, has attracted much attention. Nevertheless, due to the cycle slips and multipath effects in the GNSS signal, the performance of PPP is severely degraded in urban areas, which has a negative effect on the PPP/inertial navigation system (INS)/vision integrated navigation. Moreover, the carrier phase observations with un-modeled multipath cause false detection of small cycle slips and lead to deviation in the state variable estimation in PPP. Therefore, an effective cycle slip/multipath estimation, detection and mitigation (EDM) method is proposed. A clustering method is used to separate the cycle slips and multipath from the carrier phase observations aided by visual inertial odometry (VIO) positioning results. The influence of the carrier phase multipath on state variable estimation is reduced by adjusting the stochastic ambiguity model in the Kalman filter. The proposed EDM method is validated by vehicle experiments conducted in urban and freeway areas. Experimental results demonstrate that 0.2% cycle slip detection error is achieved by our method. Besides, the multipath estimation accuracy of EDM improves by more than 50% compared with the geometry-based (GB) method. Regarding positioning accuracy, the EDM method has a maximum of 72.2% and 63.2% improvement compared to traditional geometry-free (GF) and GB methods. [Termes IGN] tectonique des plaquesRésumé : (auteur) We present an overall analysis of the recent seismic activity occurred in the Adriatic Sea region, a strongly debated sector of the Mediterranean area, where several authors have proposed different models of plate configuration and kinematics. In the past, seismic investigations of this marine area have been strongly hampered by non-optimal network geometries, but data quality increase and recent methodological improvements lay the groundwork to attempt more accurate analyses including proper evaluations of result reliability. On these grounds, we investigated the seismic activity of the last decades by means of new hypocenter locations, waveform inversion focal mechanisms and seismogenic stress fields. We used the Bayloc non-linear probabilistic algorithm to compute hypocenter locations for the most relevant seismic sequences by carefully evaluating location quality and seismolineaments reliability. We also provided an updated database of waveform inversion focal mechanisms including original solutions estimated by applying the waveform inversion method Cut And Paste and data available from official catalogs. Then, focal mechanism solutions have been used to estimate seismogenic stress fields through different inversion algorithms. Seismic results indicate a relevant degree of fragmentation and different patterns of deformation in the Central Adriatic region. In particular, our analyses depicted two NW-SE oriented, adjacent volumes: (i) a pure compressive domain with NNE-trending axis of maximum compression characterizes the northeastern volume where the seismic activity occurs on W-to-NW oriented seismic sources; (ii) a transpressive domain with NW-trending axis of maximum compression characterizes the southwestern sector where thrust faulting preferentially occurs on ENE-to-NE oriented planes and strike-slip faulting on E-W ones. Joint evaluation of seismic findings of the present study and kinematic models proposed in the literature indicates just in the Central Adriatic region the presence of a broad deformation zone, accommodating a still evolving fragmentation of the Adriatic domain in two blocks rotating in opposite directions. On these grounds, the obtained results not only furnish new seismological evidence supporting the "two-blocks model" proposed by previous authors, but they also provide additional constraints, useful for better understanding and modeling the seismotectonic processes occurring in the Adriatic region. [Termes IGN] positionnement par GPSRésumé : (auteur) Multi-GNSS combination can alleviate problems associated with GNSS-based geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellite navigation and orbit determination (OD), such as GNSS availability and observation geometry deterioration. However, only GPS has been widely applied and investigated in GEO missions, whereas GEO OD with BDS requires further exploration. The Chinese GEO satellite TJS-5, equipped with a GPS and BDS-compatible receiver, is the first GEO mission that tracks both BDS 2nd and 3rd generation satellites since BDS global deployment. With the TJS-5 real onboard data, we evaluate BDS side-lobe signal performance and the BDS contribution to GEO OD. Due to transmit antenna gain deficiencies in the side lobes, BDS shows a worse tracking performance than GPS with an average satellite number of 4.3 versus 7.8. Both GPS and BDS reveal inconsistency between carrier-phase and code observations, which reaches several meters and significantly degrades post-dynamic OD calculation. We estimate the consistency as a random walk process in the carrier-phase observation model to reduce its impact. With inconsistency estimated, the post-fit carrier-phase residuals decrease from 0.21 to 0.09 m for both GPS and BDS. The OD precision is significantly improved, from 1.95 to 1.42 m with only GPS and from 3.14 to 2.71 m with only BDS; the GPS and BDS combined OD exhibits the largest improvement from 1.74 to 0.82 m, demonstrating that adding BDS improves the OD precision by 43.3%. The above results indicate that the proposed carrier-phase inconsistency estimation approach is effective for both GPS and BDS and can achieve an orbit precision within 1.0 m using multi-GNSS measurements. Given the current literature reports, little research is involved in the quantitative analysis of each error of the VTEC map and the spatiotemporal characteristic of global VTEC accuracy. Based on the single layer model and sphere harmonic function, we propose an approach using simulated GPS data to comprehensively verify the accuracy of the VTEC map. The spatiotemporal characteristic of global VTEC accuracy and the errors induced by different processing steps, i.e., carrier phase to code leveling, mapping function (MF), DCB estimation and coefficient fitting, are analyzed and discussed in detail. In addition, the effect of solar activity on the accuracy of the global VTEC map, MF and DCB estimation has been discussed. The results suggest: First, it is found that the MF error at sunrise is more significant than that at sunset, and this important characteristic can be proven based on the analysis of theory and ionospheric radio occultation and VTEC measurements; second, the MF is the most significant error source in the VTEC processing for regions with dense and homogeneous distributed GPS stations, e.g., North America and Europe. The VTEC accuracy in these regions can be improved by 100% with the satellite elevation cutoff angle increasing from 12° to 30°; finally, compared with the global VTEC accuracy using 350 GPS stations observations, the accuracy is improved by 306% based on the double GPS stations with even distribution.
