[Termes IGN] séismeRésumé : (Auteur) Differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar (D-InSAR) measures ground deformation only along the line-of-sight (LOS) of the radar, which limits the capability of D-InSAR in investigating the surface damages and the focus mechanisms of earthquakes. We do a three-dimensional (3D) decomposition of the coseismic displacement of the Darfield, New Zealand earthquake that occurred on 3 September 2010 by exploiting the Multi-Aperture InSAR (MAI) and D-InSAR measurements from both ascending and descending L-band PALSAR data. Due to the dispersive nature of the ionosphere and the slight Doppler shift between the forward- and backward-looking interferograms, the ionospheric effects can be more serious in MAI measurements than in D-InSAR. We propose mitigating the ionospheric effects in the MAI processing with the directional filtering and interpolation procedure that has been applied in Offset-tracking. The rupture revealed by the 3D surface displacement fits closely to the Greendale fault, which is believed to be responsible for the earthquake. The horizontal ground motions, mostly eastwards in the hanging wall and westwards in the footwall, reached up to 2.5 m and are anti-symmetric with respect to the Greendale fault. Up to 2.5 m subsidence occurred in the hanging wall, while uplift is found in the footwall with an extreme case of 1.6 m in the far left of the fault. This makes us conclude that the Greendale fault is a normal and dextral strike-slip. It is seen that the MAI measurements are very helpful in the derivation of 3D coseismic displacement fields as it provides more accurate displacement estimation in the north–south direction. [Termes IGN] surveillance d'ouvrageRésumé : (Auteur) Shanghai maglev is a very fast traffic tool, so it is very strict with the stability of the roadbed. However, the ground subsidence is a problem in Shanghai because of the poor geological condition and human-induced factors. So it is necessary to monitor ground subsidence in the area along the Shanghai maglev precisely and frequently. Traditionally, a precise levelling method is used to survey along the track. It is expensive and time consuming, and can only get the ground subsidence information on sparse benchmarks. Recently, the small baseline differential SAR technique plays a valuable part in monitoring ground subsidence, which can extract ground subsidence information with high spatial resolution in a wide area. In this paper, L-band ALOS PALSAR data and C-band Envisat ASAR data are used to extract ground subsidence information using the SBAS method in the Shanghai maglev area. The results show that the general pattern of ground subsidence from InSAR processing of two differential bands of SAR images is similar. Both results show that there is no significant ground subsidence on the maglev line. Near the railway line, there are a few places with subsidence rates at about -20 mm/y or even more, such as Chuansha town, the junction of the maglev and Waihuan road. [Termes IGN] radar à antenne synthétiqueRésumé : (Auteur) Bistatic inverse synthetic aperture radar (BiISAR) imaging provides complementary information to monostatic ISAR imaging. A suggestion that the conventional bistatic ISAR can be replaced by an equivalent monostatic radar is shown to be inadequate in this paper. We prove that the BiISAR image is a sheared version of the projection of the target on the range-Doppler plane. A bistatic interferometric radar configuration is proposed to correct this distortion and to form 3-D image. Simulation results have validated our analysis and shown the viability of the proposed 3-D imaging algorithm. In this paper, we use landscape metrics for land cover and statistical analysis to explore the interactions between such measures as shape and patch density indices for land cover and lake primary productivity. The objective was to identify metrics that could be used to predict lake primary productivity, as measured by chlorophyll a, total nitrogen and total phosphorus estimates. Land cover and landscape metrics for the Toolik region of Alaska were derived using satellite imagery and Fragstats software. The metrics, treated as independent variables in a stepwise regression, were derived for two levels of land cover. The first comprised the entire watershed studied; the second was derived using buffers created around water channels within each watershed. A statistically significant model for each dependent variable was obtained. Results suggest that, of the metrics tested; those related to broad leaf vegetation complexes were most useful in predicting lake primary productivity. The Landscape Shape Index for riparian patches and the Patch Density for heath complex were the two most important metrics for predicting variation in chlorophyll a (p Numéro de notice : A2012-574 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : FORET/IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.1559/15230406394187 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.1559/15230406394187 Format de la ressource électronique : URL Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=32020

[Termes IGN] zone intertropicaleRésumé : (Auteur) The study examined the capability of dual-polarization SAR data for forest cover mapping and change assessment in the Brazilian Amazon Forest regions. Shuttle Imaging Radar (SIR)-C and Advanced Land Observing Satellite Phased Array L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (ALOS PALSAR) data were analysed to map and quantify deforestation. The images were classified using hybrid classifier, where each land cover was grouped in various spectral sub-classes interpreted on the imagery and later merged together to generate the desired land cover classes. The classification accuracy for forest was reasonably high (>90%). The technique applied in this study can be extended for operational mapping and monitoring of deforestation in the tropics, particularly for those regions which are often covered by cloud.
