[Termes IGN] transformation de coordonnéesRésumé : (Auteur) The meridian arc length from the equator to arbitrary latitude is of utmost importance in map projection, particularly in the Gauss-Krüger projection. In Japan, the previously used formula for the meridian arc length was a power series with respect to the first eccentricity squared of the earth ellipsoid, despite the fact that a more concise expansion using the third flattening of the earth ellipsoid has been derived. One of the reasons that this more concise formula has rarely been recognized in Japan is that its derivation is difficult to understand. This paper shows an explicit derivation of a general formula in the form of a power series with respect to the third flattening of the earth ellipsoid. Since the derived formula is suitable for implementation as a computer program, it has been applied to the calculation of coordinate conversion in the Gauss-Krüger projection for trial. [Termes IGN] transformation de coordonnéesRésumé : (Auteur) The vector-based algorithms for biaxial and triaxial ellipsoidal coordinates presented by Feltens (J Geod 82: 493-504, 2008; 83: 129-137, 2009) have been extended to hyperboloids of one sheet. For the backward transformation from Cartesian to hyperboloidal coordinates, of two iterative process candidates one was identified to be well suited. It turned out that a careful selection of the center of curvature is essential for the establishment of a stable and reliable iteration process. In addition, for zero hyperboloidal heights a closed solution is presented. The hyperboloid algorithms are again based on simple formulae and have been successfully tested for various theoretical hyperboloids. The paper concludes with a practical application on a cooling construction. [Termes IGN] transformation de coordonnéesRésumé : (Auteur) A closed-form analytical method needing no approximation and deduced from a single quartic equation is offered to transform geocentric into geodetic coordinates. It is valid at any point inside and outside the Earth including the polar axis, the equatorial plane and the Earth’s center. Comparison with the method of extrema with constraints to obtain this quartic equation is made. [Termes IGN] transformation de coordonnéesRésumé : (Auteur) An overview of a regional realization of ETRS89 over the area of Greece is presented in this paper. The underlying project is related to the recent establishment of the Hellenic Positioning System (HEPOS), a GPS-based spatial positioning service using a network of 98 continuously operating reference stations located in Greece and operated by KTIMATOLOGIO S.A. The data analysis procedure that was followed for the least-squares adjustment of the HEPOS network is described, along with the adopted methodology for the datum definition and its alignment with the ETRS89/ETRF05 reference frame. The paper presents also a combined transformation model that was concurrently developed for the connection between the official Hellenic Geodetic Reference System 1987 (HGRS87) and the Hellenic Terrestrial Reference System 2007 (HTRS07), where the latter identifies the ETRS89/ETRF05-based frame that underlies the operation of HEPOS. The results obtained from the evaluation of the aforementioned model, at 2430 geodetic benchmarks throughout Greece, revealed an accuracy level that is better than 10 cm in terms of the rms value for the total horizontal transformation error.
