[Termes IGN] optimisation (mathématiques)Résumé : (Auteur) In the past, "active learning" strategies have been proposed for improving the convergence and accuracy of statistical classifiers. However, many of these approaches have large storage requirements or unnecessarily large computational burdens and, therefore, have been impractical for the largescale databases typically, found in remote sensing, especially hyperspectral applications. In this paper, we develop a practical online approach with only modest storage requirements. The new approach improves the convergence rate associated with the optimization of adaptive classifiers, especially in highdimensional remote sensing data. We demonstrate the new approach using PROBE2 hyperspectral imagery and find convergence time improvements of two orders of magnitude in the optimization of landcover classifiers. [Termes IGN] propagation d'erreurRésumé : (Auteur) Thirteen panchromatic (Pan) and multiband (XS) Ikonos Geoproduct images over seven study sites with various environments and terrain were tested using different cartographic data and accuracies with a 3D parametric model developed at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing, Natural Resources Canada. The objectives of this study were to define the relationship between the final accuracy and the number and accuracy of input data, to track error propagation during the full geometric correction process (bundle adjustment and orthorectification), and to advise on the applicability of the model in operational environments.
When ground control points (GCPs) have an accuracy poorer than 3 m, 20 GGPs over the entire image are a good compromise to obtain a 3- to 4-m accuracy in the bundle adjustment. When GCP accuracy is better than 1 m, ten GCPs are enough to decrease the bundle adjustment error of either panchromatic or multiband images to 2 to 3 m. Because GGP residuals reflect the input data errors (map and/or plotting), these errors did not propagate through the 3D parametric model, and the internal accuracy of the geometric model is thus better (around a pixel or less).
Quantitative and qualitative evaluations of orthoimages were thus performed with either independent check points or overlaid digital vector files. Generally, the measured errors confirmed the predicted errors or were even slightly better, and a 2- to 4-m positioning accuracy was achieved for the orthoimages depending upon the elevation accuracy (DEM and grid spacing). To achieve a better final positioning accuracy, such as 1 m, a DEM with an accuracy of 1 to 2 m and with a fine grid spacing is required, in addition to welldefined GCPs with an accuracy of 1 m.Numéro de notice : A2003-001 Affiliation des auteurs : non IGN Thématique : IMAGERIE Nature : Article DOI : 10.14358/PERS.69.1.43 En ligne : https://doi.org/10.14358/PERS.69.1.43 Format de la ressource électronique : URL article Permalink : https://documentation.ensg.eu/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=22299

[Termes IGN] méthode robusteRésumé : (Auteur) There are many factors to consider in carrying out a hyperspectral data classification. Perhaps chief among them are class training sample size, dimensionality, and distribution separability. The intent of this study is to design a classification procedure that is robust and maximally effective, but which provides the analyst with significant assists, thus simplifying the analyst's task. The result is a quadratic mixture classifier based on Mixed-LOOC2 regulized discriminant analysis and nonparametric weighted feature extraction. This procedure has the advantage of providing improved classification accuracy compared to typical previous methods but requires minimal need to consider the factor mentioned above. Experimental results demonstrating these properties are presented. [Termes IGN] vapeur d'eauRésumé : (Auteur) Pixel fusion is used to elaborate a classification method at pixel level. It needs to take into account the more accurate as possible information and take advantage of the statistical learning of the previous measurements acquired by sensors. The classical probabilistic fusion methods lack performance when the previous learning is not representative of the real measurements provided by sensors. The DempsterShafer theory is then introduced to face this disadvantage by integrating a further information which is the context of the sensor acquisitions. In this paper, we propose a formalism of modeling of the sensor reliability to the context that leads to two methods of integration: the first one amounts to integrate this further information in the fusion rule as degrees of trust and the second models the sensor reliability directly as mass function. These two methods are compared in the case where the sensor reliability depends on an atmospheric disturbance : the water vapor.
