[Termes IGN] semis de pointsRésumé : (auteur) Semantic segmentation of mobile laser scanning (MLS) point clouds can provide meaningful 3 D semantic information of urban facilities for various applications. However, it still remains a challenge to extract accurate 3 D semantic information from MLS point cloud data due to its irregular 3 D geometric structure in a large-scale outdoor scene. To this end, this study develops a geometry-aware attention point network (GAANet) with geometric properties of the point cloud as a reference. Specifically, the proposed method first builds a graph-like region for each input point to establish the geometric correlation toward its neighbors for robustly descripting local geometry-aware features. Thereafter, the method introduces a novel multi-head attention mechanism to efficiently learn local discriminative features on the constructed graphs and a feature combination operation to capture both local and global geometric dependencies inside fused point features for significantly facilitating the segmentation of small or incomplete 3 D objects at point-level. Finally, an adaptive loss function is appended to handle class imbalance for the overall performance improvement. The validation experiments on two challenging benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness and powerful generation ability of the proposed method, which achieves state-of-the-art performance with mean IoU of 65.09% and 95.20% in the Toronto-3D and Oakland 3-D MLS dataset, respectively. [Termes IGN] zone inondableRésumé : (auteur) Flooding due to overflowing rivers affects the construction elements of many buildings. Although significant progress has been made in predicting this damage, there is still a need to continue studying this issue. For this reason, the main goal of this research focuses on finding out if, based on a small dataset of cases of a given area, it is possible to predict at least three degrees of affectation in buildings, considering only three environmental factors (minimum distance from the river, unevenness and possible water communication). To meet this goal, the methodological approach followed considers scientific literature review and collection and analysis of a small dataset from 101 buildings that have been affected by floods in the Guadalquivir River basin (Andalusia. Spain). After analyzing this data, algorithms based on machine learning (ML) are applied to predict the degree of affection. The results, analysis and conclusions indicate that, if the study focuses on a specific area and similar buildings, using a correlation matrix and ML algorithms such as the "Decision Tree" with cross-validation, around 90% can be achieved in the "Recall" and "Precision" of "High-Level-Affection" class, and an “Accuracy” around 80% in general. [Termes IGN] réflectance végétaleRésumé : (auteur) As a key phenolic pigment concentrated in the surface tissues of leaves, flavonoids (Flav) are the major bioactive ingredients in Ginkgo leaf extracts. Flav are also marked natural antioxidants and significant indicators of biotic and abiotic stresses, critical for determining cultivation quality and enhancing Flav yield. In particular, area-based Flav (Flavarea) is related to the shortwave-blue light interaction within leaves per unit leaf area, whereas mass-based Flav (Flavmass) is useful for the quantitative assessment of Flav yield. In order to accurately estimate the contents of Flavarea and Flavmass in leaves of Ginkgo plantations, in this study, we developed an advanced bidirectional reflectance factor (BRF) spectra-based approach by reducing the effects of specular reflection and enhancing the absorption signals of Flav (in the shortwave-blue region of spectrum), using a suite of new spectral indices (SIs) (i.e., flavonoid index (FI), modified flavonoid index (mFI) and double difference index (DD)) calculated from the leaf clip equipped spectrometers-collected data. The results demonstrated that most of the SIs derived from the developed BRF spectra-based approach obtained relatively high performance for Flav estimation by alleviating adverse effects of specular reflection to different extents (CV-R2 = 0.60–0.76). In specific, DDnir434,421 selected from DD-type indices performed (CV-R2 = 0.76 for Flavarea; CV-R2 = 0.69 for Flavmass) better than other indices. These findings represent marked potentials of the developed BRF spectra-based approach for non-destructively estimating leaf Flav content, as well as improving the understanding of the mechanisms of specular effects on Flav estimations in leaves of Ginkgo plantations. This study involves analyzing the GIS-based estimation accuracy in the length, radius and the number of small horizontal road curves on a two-lane rural road and a forest road. The prediction success of horizontal curve attributes was investigated using digitized raw and generalized/simplified road segments. Two different roads were examined, involving 20 test groups and two control groups, using 22 datasets obtained from digitized and surveyed roads based on satellite imagery, GIS estimates, and field measurements. Confusion matrix tables were also used to evaluate the prediction accuracy of horizontal curve geometry. F-score, Mathews Correlation Coefficient, Bookmaker Informedness and Balanced Accuracy were used to investigate the performance of test groups. The Kruskal–Wallis test was used to analyze the statistical relationships between the data. Compared to the Bezier generalization algorithm, the Douglas–Peucker algorithm showed the most accurate horizontal curve predictions at generalization tolerances of 0.8 m and 1 m. The results show that the generalization tolerance level contributes to the prediction accuracy of the number, curve radius, and length of the horizontal curves, which vary with the tolerance value. Thus, this study underlined the importance of calculating generalizations and tolerances following a manual road digitization. [Termes IGN] visionRésumé : (auteur) Measuring perceptions of visual walkability in urban streets and exploring the associations between the visual features of the street built environment that make walking attractive to humans are both theoretically and practically important. Previous studies have used either environmental audits and subjective evaluations that have limitations in terms of cost, time, and measurement scale, or computer-aided audits based on natural street view images (SVIs) but with gaps in real perception. In this study, a virtual reality panoramic image-based deep learning framework is proposed for measuring visual walkability perception (VWP) and then quantifying and visualizing the contributing visual features. A VWP classification deep multitask learning (VWPCL) model was first developed and trained on human ratings of panoramic SVIs in virtual reality to predict VWP in six categories. Second, a regression model was used to determine the degree of correlation of various objects with one of the six VWP categories based on semantic segmentation. Furthermore, an interpretable deep learning model was used to assist in identifying and visualizing elements that contribute to VWP. The experiment validated the accuracy of the VWPCL model for predicting VWP. The results represent a further step in understanding the interplay of VWP and street-level semantics and features.
