[Termes IGN] TurquieRésumé : (Auteur) Tokat province is one of the least studied areas in Turkey. Updated spatial information about ferrous minerals (FM) and iron oxide (IO) is often required for studies focusing on environmental modelling, agriculture, and mining. In this study, FM and IO attributes of the province were assessed and mapped by evaluating Landsat-ETM+ satellite images. To avoid incorrect interpretations, dense plant or closed forest areas were determined using the normalized difference vegetative index, and excluded from the evaluation by masking. FM and IO index maps were produced using related algorithms and remote sensing tools. Classification and spatial analysis operations were conducted under the framework of Geographic Information Systems. A natural breaks method was employed for classification, and both indices were summarized in nine classes. The relationship between two index maps was investigated using a bi-variety correlation analysis. The correlation between two index maps (0.549) was found to be significant at the 1% level. Developed index maps were tested using ancillary data from previous studies in the area. The results were summarized at the administrative district level. [Termes IGN] résiduRésumé : (auteur) For the first time, the ITRF2005 input data are in the form of time series of station positions and Earth orientation parameters, together with full variance-covariance information. The first step of the ITRF2005 analysis consists of rigorously stacking each time series to yield a long-term solution per technique. As a by-product, time series of position residuals contain the nonlinear motion of points over the Earth's surface. In this paper, the height residual time series of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI), Global Positioning System (GPS), and satellite laser ranging (SLR) solutions submitted to ITRF2005 are compared. We note that the interpretation of the ITRF2005 position residual time series as observed physical motions at the various stations is delicate due to the inhomogeneous site distribution. We estimate that the network effect may introduce an averaged scatter of 3 and 2 mm in the VLBI and SLR height residuals, respectively. Although noise levels are different among these three techniques, a common 1.0 cycles per year (cpy) frequency is clearly detected. The GPS height annual signal exhibits significant regional correlations that are confirmed by VLBI and SLR measurements in some colocated sites. Significant power near frequencies 2.00, 3.12, and 4.16 cpy is also detected in the individual GPS height residuals time series as mentioned by Ray et al. (2007). However, neither VLBI nor SLR show any significant signals at these frequencies for colocated sites. The agreement between detrended height time series at colocated sites is quantified using a novel method based on Kalman filtering and on maximum likelihood estimation. The GPS and VLBI measurements are shown to agree fairly well for most of the colocated sites. However, agreement is not generally observed in the GPS and SLR comparisons. A study of the interannual signal at colocated sites indicates that the good correlation cannot be completely attributed to the annual harmonic. [Termes IGN] superposition d'imagesRésumé : (Auteur) We describe a procedure to accurately measure ground deformations from optical satellite images. Precise orthorectification is obtained owing to an optimized model of the imaging system, where look directions are linearly corrected to compensate for attitude drifts, and sensor orientation uncertainties are accounted for. We introduce a new computation of the inverse projection matrices for which a rigorous resampling is proposed. The irregular resampling problem is explicitly addressed to avoid introducing aliasing in the ortho-rectified images. Image registration and correlation is achieved with a new iterative unbiased processor that estimates the phase plane in the Fourier domain for subpixel shift detection. Without using supplementary data, raw images are wrapped onto the digital elevation model and coregistered with a 1/50 pixel accuracy. The procedure applies to images from any pushbroom imaging system. We analyze its performance using Satellite pour l'Observation de la Terre (SPOT) images in the case of a null test (no coseismic deformation) and in the case of large coseismic deformations due to the Mw 7.1 Hector Mine, California, earthquake of 1999. The proposed technique would also allow precise coregistration of images for the measurement of surface displacements due to ice-flow or geomorphic processes, or for any other change detection applications. A complete software package, the Coregistration of Optically Sensed Images and Correlation, is available for download from the Caltech Tectonics Observatory website. En partant d'une base de données purement spatiale, l'analyse conduit à un regroupement des activités commerciales habituelles. Notre analyse permet également de construire un indice de "qualité" des implantations des magasins, indice qui a été validé empiriquement. [Termes IGN] utilisateurRésumé : (Auteur) Accuracy assessment of classified imagery is an important task in remote sensing. Various measures have been developed to describe and compare the accuracy of maps and the performance of different classifiers, but the extent to which these measures are consistent with each other is largely unknown. In this paper the consistency of fourteen category-level and twenty map-level accuracy measures was tested on 595 published error matrices using nonparametric correlation coefficients (Spearman's rho and Kendall's tau-b) as well as the probability of concordance. The results show that four groups can be identified for the category-level measures and three groups for map-level measures. The consistency among the measures within a group is generally higher than that among the measures from different groups though all the measures at the same level are highly consistent with each other. We recommend that user's accuracy and producer's accuracy and the overall accuracy should be provided as primary accuracy measures and the two relative entropy change measures and the mutual information normalized by the arithmetic mean of the entropies on map and ground truthing be provided as supplementary measures. The chance-corrected, error matrix-normalized and user's and producer's accuracy-combined measures were found to contain estimation and interpretation problems at both category- and map-levels and are therefore not recommended for general use.
