[Termes IGN] station de référenceRésumé : (Auteur) In this paper, different approaches to tie a GNSS network to a conventional reference frame, using minimal constraints have been investigated. We created and analysed regional (European) and global cumulative solutions, used both the IGS05 and ITRF2005 as datum, tested different sets of transformation parameters in the minimal constraints, and used different sets of reference stations for the datum definition. Due to the correlation of the Helmert parameters in a regional network, each of the standard geocentric approaches originally dedicated to tie global networks to a reference frame, has shown deficiencies. It was demonstrated that regional solutions can show biases (up to the cm-level) with respect to each other and we conclude that at the regional level, the choice between the IGS05 or ITRF2005, the selection of the reference station set and the number of parameters used to apply the minimal constraints is crucial. In comparison, global solutions are much more stable and agree within the 2 mm-level. The objective of this paper is to develop a framework to quantify the effects of spatial road network data and navigation sensor data on the performance of map matching algorithms. Three map matching algorithms are tested with different spatial road network data (map scale 1:1,250; 1:2,500 and 1:50,000) and navigation sensor data (global positioning system (GPS) and GPS augmented with deduced reckoning) in order to quantify their performance. The algorithms are applied to different road networks of varying complexity. The performance of the algorithms is then assessed for a suburban road network using high precision positioning data obtained from GPS carrier phase observables. The results show that there are considerable effects of spatial road network data on the performance of map matching algorithms. For an urban road network, the results suggest that both the quality of spatial road network data and the type of navigation system affect the link identification performance of map matching algorithms. This article introduces an autonomous technique for computing protection levels based on error isotropy that, unlike conventional methods, adapts in real-time to ranging error size and also handles multiple-fault conditions. [Termes IGN] repère de référenceRésumé : (Auteur) All gravity field functionals obtained from an Earth gravitational model (EGM) depend on the underlying terrestrial reference frame (TRF), with respect to which the EGM’s spherical harmonic coefficients refer to. In order to maintain a coherent framework for the comparison of current and future EGMs, it is thus important to investigate the consistency of their inherent TRFs, especially when their use is intended for high precision studies. Following the methodology described in an earlier paper by Kleusberg (1980), the similarity transformation parameters between the associated reference frames for several EGMs (including the most recent CHAMP/GRACE models at the time of writing this paper) are estimated in the present study. Specifically, the differences between the spherical harmonic coefficients for various pairs of EGMs are parameterized through a 3D-similarity spatial transformation model that relates their underlying TRFs. From the least-squares adjustment of such a parametric model, the origin, orientation and scale stability between the EGMs’ reference frames can be identified by estimating their corresponding translation, rotation and scale factor parameters. Various aspects of the estimation procedure and its results are highlighted in the paper, including data weighting schemes, the sensitivity of the results with respect to the selected harmonic spectral band, the correlation structure and precision level of the estimated transformation parameters, the effect of the estimated differences of the EGMs’ reference frames on their height anomaly signal, and the overall feasibility of Kleusberg’s formulae for the assessment of TRF inconsistencies among global geopotential models.
