[Termes IGN] ToulouseRésumé : (Auteur) The HYEP project (ANR HYEP 14-CE22-0016-01 Hyperspectral imagery for Environmental urban Planning - Mobility and Urban Systems Programme - 2014) confirmed the interest of a global approach to the urban environment by remote sensing and in particular by using hyperspectral imaging (HI). The interest of hyperspectral images lies in the range of information provided over wavelengths from 0.4 to 4 μm; they thus provide access to spectral quantities of interest and to chemical or biophysical parameters of the surface. HYEP's objective was to specify this and to propose a panel of methods and treatments taking into account the characteristics of other existing sensors in order to compare their performance. The developments carried out were applied and evaluated on hyperspectral airborne images acquired in Toulouse and Kaunas (Lithuania), also used to synthesize space systems: Sentinel-2, Hypxim/Biodiversity and Pleiades. Among the locks identified were those related to improving the spatial capabilities of the sensors and spatial scale changes, which were partially overcome by fusion and sharpening approaches, which proved to be successful. After a description of our hyperspectral data set acquired over Toulouse, an analysis is conducted on several existing and accessible spectral databases. Then, the chosen methods are presented. They include extraction, fusion and classification methods, which are then applied on our dataset synthetized at different spatial resolution to evaluate the benefits and the complementarity of hyperspectral imagery in comparison with other traditional sensors. Some specific applications are investigated of interest for urban planners: impervious soil map, vegetation species cartography and detection of solar panels. Finally, discussion and perspectives are presented. [Termes IGN] turbidité des eauxRésumé : (auteur) Our goal is to compare the performance of Classification and Regression Tree, Naive Bayes and Random Forest algorithms, from supervised image classification, and approaches on Pixel-Based Image analysis (PBIA) and Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA), to classify turbidity in reservoirs. Tod do so, we use Landsat 8 image and bands and spectral indices, as predictive parameters, as well as the classification algorithms based on PBIA and GEOBIA. The Brazilian Itaipu reservoir was adopted, as a case study. Our results show that the RF classifier obtained the highest accuracy in both classification approaches, followed by CART and NB. The KA and OA indices of the GEOBIA classifications were superior to the PBIA classifications in both algorithms. This study contributes with an approach to quickly and accurately delineating turbidity spectral limits in reservoirs. [Termes IGN] régressionRésumé : (auteur) The estimate of the historical effective climate sensitivity (histeffCS) is revisited with updated historical observations of the global energy budget in order to derive an observational constraint on the effective sensitivity of climate to CO2 (CO2effCS). A regression method based on observations of the energy budget over 1971-2017 is used to estimate the histeffCS (4.34 [2.17;22.83] K, median and 5-95% range). Then, climate model simulations are used to evaluate the distance between the histeffCS and the CO2effCS. The observational estimate of the histeffCS and the distance between the histeffCS and the CO2effCS are combined to derive an observational constraint on CO2effCS of 5.46 [2.40;35.61] K. The main sources of uncertainty in the CO2effCS estimate comes from the uncertainty in aerosol forcing and in the top of the atmosphere energy imbalance. Further uncertainty arises from the pattern effect correction estimated from climate models. There is confidence in the lower end of the 5-95% range derived from our method as it relies only on reliable recent data and it makes full use of the observational record since 1971. This important result suggests that observations of the global energy budget since 1971 are poorly consistent with climate sensitivity to CO2 below 2.4 K. Unfortunately, the upper end of the 5-95% range derived from the regression method is above 30 K. It means that the observational constraint derived from observations of the global energy budget since 1971 is too weak (i.e. the uncertainty is too large) to provide any relevant information on the credibility of high CO2effCS. [Termes IGN] prévention des risquesRésumé : (auteur) Despite the fact that wildland fires have always been an integral part of many ecosystems, their increased frequency and intensity have reinforced the need of fire managers for updated and highly accurate information associated with the spatial distribution of forest fuels. In 2015, a fuel type mapping method was developed in the framework of the “National Observatory of Forest Fires (NOFFi)” project resulting in the generation of a national fuel type map. In this study, we aimed at examining the potential of the newly available Sentinel-2 satellite images for the improvement of the NOFFi’s mapping method in terms of accuracy and update effectiveness of the national fuel type map. Results demonstrate Sentinel-2 data will likely improve the resolution and reliability of national fuel type maps, increasing mapping efficiency for operational purposes. Note de contenu :
